We had an incredible good time in Wellikande!!! We are a family of 7 adults with 2 small children. The house with 4 rooms and veranda was perfect! The view and the garden are incredibly beautiful. Michael and Tush are full of good advices for planning the trip. They also offered excursions like the fantastic 22 kilometer’s trip we made with Ravi, in the rice fields and mountains. We also had a really worth cooking class in a wonderful location in the house of a local family along a river with a waterfall and great food. One hour from the house is Kandy, which we visited with Ementa the driver. The breakfast were excellent (all what you want, just ask) and the dinners are made at the common table which made them very pleasant as everybody is chatting with everybody. All the workers are super pleasant. On top we loved the great yoga classes every morning and evening. The place is isolated but at anytime one can order a tuktuk to reach “civilization” at 10 minutes away.

This is the most lovely place - great views and lovely hosts and staff. Pretty tough to cycle to though worth the effort. We enjoyed the trekking with an excellent guide and the yoga with a wonderful instructor. We loved it despite the leeches (only on the trek).

This stay up in the hills near Kandy, is full of spectacular views, local touches, excellent meals, and great company. Michael and team are great hosts and the cozy cabin with hammocks were a delightful way to relax for a few days. We were 2 families with 6 children and we had plenty of space to be comfortable and find our peace.

If I could give this slice of heaven 10 stars I would. If you are a person who loves beauty, tranquility and friendly interaction with other human beings this place is for you. And when I say beauty, I really mean it. The views from the main house and the Old Priest’s House (where our family stayed) were breathtaking. Magnificent vistas of mountains, trees and lakes. Owners Michael and Tush are delightful, providing both interesting company and absolutely delicious food, eaten communally with other guests. Although the location is quite remote (and therefore absolutely peaceful) there are lots of things to do, from yoga and meditation to some amazing treks. Michael organised a guided 14 km trek for us through incredible mountain meadows and forests full of spice trees: cloves, pepper, cardamom, cacao, tamarind ... it was unforgettable and finished with a glorious dinner on the balcony as the sun set. And if you don’t want to walk or meditate, you simply swing gently in the breeze in a hammock overlooking the most extraordinary view you are ever likely to see. I can honestly say that the time I spent here was some of the happiest my life.
