自我介绍

Retired couple, I am retired from UPS my husband Rod is a retired carpenter. We love our little community and enjoy volunteering for various community agencies. I am an avid Gardener and Rod's creative abilities are evident in the refurbishment of our home and garden. The five things I can't live without would have to be: Food, Water, Shelter and the love my husband and best friend...well thats only four so how about a carrot...I always like to have a new project, trip or experience to plan for in my future, I call this my carrot. Rod and I love the outdoors and have backpacked extensively in the Mountains surrounding our home. We spent 16 days river rafting the Colorado river through the Grand Canyon in 2014 where I was the permit holder and Rod was my boatman. We love the Big Island of Hawaii and spent a lot of time there until 2016 when we shifted gears and headed South to Costa Rica for our first time. While there we took classes at Intercultura Spanish Language and Cultural Immersion program in Samara and they placed us to live with a Local Tican couple. Jose and Marlene were amazing hosts and we absolutely fell in love with the Country, the culture and the people. We now have a small casita that we lease for the year and spend many, many months there every year. Bev is a volunteer at Mareas Academy which is an international school with students from all over the world , ages 2 to 18. We are usually home through the summer to host our guests but have done our own share of enjoying Airbnb accommodations in Central America, Canada and throughout Europe. We are avid hikers and have been blessed with time on the Camino de Santiago in France, Spain and Portugal. We also have a small travel trailer and venture out to explore new sites in the US and Canada, with a long trip planned to Alaska for the summer of 2021. When we are home we love to entertain and find our visitors to be a highlight of our time here. I would have to say that as far as a motto the only thing I can come up with is 'Happiness is wanting what you've got' and we are very happy.
