This historic mansion was absolutely gorgeous! It was such a treat for us to stay there for our Anniversary. The recommendations for restaurants were great. We dined at Brooklyn & the Butcher per Ron’s recommendation and it didn’t disappoint in the least. I can say we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The hot breakfast served in the morning was delicious and far exceeded what I expected. The room was beautiful and the claw foot tub was a delight and relaxing. I would recommend bringing your own pillows and possible mattress topper though. We didn’t sleep well, but we are used to a sleep number bed. We also had people lodging in adjoining room and you could hear most everything (talking, TV, walking around) going on in each others rooms. It wasn’t very sound proof. Those are only qualms with our stay, but I don’t think it would keep us from coming back. Everything else was stellar. Ron gave us a great tour at check in and a full history of New Albany all the way back to Civil War era.
Great location , first class stay.,I recommend you Go to the museum to enhance your stay. You kind of feel like you’re in the game of Clue or Scooby Doo, we found the candlestick under the bed.Made for a nice adventure And a Fun time.
Really spectacular historic house in great neighborhood. Rooms decorated in period pieces but with all the modern conveniences. Very hospitable and helpful owner and housekeeper.
Amazing bed and breakfast! I felt like royalty staying in the rooms of this mansion! The location is perfect. Just a short walk from downtown with cute shops and restaurants. It is also surrounded by other amazing houses and the Culbertson mansion right across the street. Ron did an amazing job making us feel welcomed with a quick tour of the house and an amazing selection for breakfast! Would recommend!!!
Our newly renovated 15 blocks of the Historic "Mansion Row" district along Main Street is a great place to stroll and appreciate the architecture of the 1800's; new roadway, sidewalks, medians and over 300 new trees. Or walk along the mighty Ohio river which is only 1 block away. This Historic District is well lit and safe, a show-piece for the City of New Albany.
Walk to downtown sites and restaurants; Uber coverage. One block to the Ohio River Greenway Walk and Boardwalk.
