We had the best stay here. Our favourite place that we stayed during our whole trip in Sri Lanka. The surroundings were Beautiful and our room was stunning. Amila made us feel very welcome and at home and nothing was too much trouble. His surf lessons were also great! we can't wait to come back to this magical place!!
Beautiful place in a good location away from the busier vibe of Hikkaduwa beach area. Amila and Hannah were so welcoming and helpful and the cleaner / gardener was always smiling and did a tremendous job. The pool area was welcome for a cool off and the room had aircon, which for me was great to use for an afternoon break from the heat. Banana Leaf is set in a jungle garden and we were enchanted by the pair of kingfishers that regularly visited and during our stay we were fortunate to enjoy watching monkeys, iguanas, mongoose and a host of beautiful birds including regular peacock visits. Our morning alarm comprised of either sunbirds or hanging parrots tapping on the window, which was lovely. Do not miss breakfast in CK Hopper Shop which is on the way to Hikkaduwa beach on the right before the rail tracks. You can walk there to break up the walk to the beach & they have the best string hoppers and sweet hoppers in the area as well as being a lovely family run place. 🙌❤️
We loved our stay at this beautiful airbnb. The hosts were really helpful and welcoming and provided us with a lovely stay! We really enjoyed the beautiful bedroom and pool. Highly recommended!
Absolutely beautiful apartments nestled in the jungle with lovely outside amenities pool lounge areas. Perfect sized kitchen and breakfast bar area and the bedroom was welcoming comfortable bed, Aircon and fan were great and the bathroom big for a property of this size. Hannah and Amila were the best hosts I have every incountered on Airbnb. There isn't enough words describe how perfect this place is would highly recommend and will stay there again if ever back in Sri Lanka.
Einfach traumhaft. wir hatten zwei wunderschöne Tage bei Hannah und Amila. Das Zimmer war sauber , groß und liebevoll gestaltet. Das Bad war ebenso top. Am kleinen Pool konnte man sich entspannen und sogar Affen und Vögel sehen. Wir werden aufjedenfall wieder kommen! Dankeschön 🫶

A Sri lankan/British partnership, living in beautiful Hikkaduwa on the South West coast of Sri Lanka . Amila is a surf instructor who grew up here, and Hannah is a photographer. We love to travel, and built Banana Leaf Apartments here in 2014 as a place we could welcome guests and help them have the kind of holiday we love! We enjoy being hosts, and have met some really great people through Air bnb, it's always interesting to see who's going to arrive next! We aim to make our guests stay as comfortable as possible-you'll often find us cooking and sharing it around- and show you the more local, undiscovered side of Sri Lanka. From surf lessons to transport to adventures in the jungle, we are here to help!
