Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans la superbe maison de Cathriona. La vue sur le lac est magnifique. On a l'impression d'être au bout du monde. Le seul petit bémol, c'est que la maison est un peu loin des points d'intérêt principaux du Connemara (en dehors de Galway, qui est à 30 minutes en voiture), mais c'est un lieu très reposant, parfait pour les groupes ou les familles qui souhaitent se reposer. Les chambres sont belles, la cuisine est bien équipée, l'hôte est très réactive. C'était super!

Cathriona’s house is beautiful. Exceptionally clean and well equipped. The setting is amazing- we loved the star filled night sky and peaceful lough. The bats didn’t disturb us at all (a previous review mentions there are bats in the attic but they’re actually nesting behind a stone facade at the front of the house so not an issue for us) - we loved watching them flit about in the evening. My kids enjoyed the company of the local friendly dogs. Great communication with Cathriona. Couldn’t have asked for more.

Unfortunately Cathriona was not upfront about bats in the attic and eaves of the house. They covered the outside area including our cars with their dirt and gave us sleepless nights with their noise. She admitted the windows were left dirty as her window cleaner had covid. They were appalling. We spent an hour cleaning a bbq and drove into the town to get cleaning products as she told us where they were kept was locked. We cleaned the which you can expect outside due to the location but not inside! The cobwebs were disgusting. Breakfast consisted of dried cereals that were in jars that were only half full and a box of eggs that wasn't full either. One full carton of orange juice and milk (we were a party of 10 for 3 nights) I am now very distrustful of the reviews and would query the authenticity of the reviewers. We did not meet her or any person to represent her. When we confronted her with texts she replied with photos of a fews crumbs left on a toaster! To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.

this is a gem of a place, beautifully located by the lake, surrounded by white horses and geese. the house is very spacious and very practical for dining and relaxing. it is a 10 min drive from the village which has a large supermarket and some good restaurants open most of the day. cathriona communicates well and is very responsive. highly recommend for your holidays in Connemara!
