This house provides real tranquility of the mountains, while staying in walking distance to restaurants, shops, etc. You can enjoy forest, birds singing and creek seething from your backyard, front yard, or just directly from the house - just keep the windows open. In April, we were lucky to enjoy heavy irises blooming all around. The house, complete with books and board games, is used by Nina and the family from time to time, which makes it more homely and less rental unit. Local cats are visiting, and you can feed them with supplied cat food, but they are polite enough not to go inside. Note: Path to the house is not long, but somewhat steep, so getting luggage back to your car will require some effort. Instructions include photo of the path start, but you will need Google Street View to identify it. You are not in complete wilderness - you will hear and see other people from time to time, which is perfectly normal being close to the village and aside a popular nature trail.

Nina’s house is in a beautiful wooded gorge, surrounded by trees + on a popular nature trail. It is clearly well loved by Nina and the family. it has a homely, peaceful and welcoming feel and we had everything we needed for cooking there. However, it wasn’t easy getting our cases and supplies down the rough path to the house(we had 2 weeks worth of stuff as we were staying in Cyprus for a while) and going back up the hill in the dark at night to the village was a disincentive to eating out or socialising there. It was cold when we got back after walking especially in the bathroom which had no heating and although the pellet stove fired up fairly quickly, it took a while to heat the house up (didn’t touch bathroom) and we needed thick fleeces to stay warm in the evenings. Overall we enjoyed our stay but the house is rustic- charming but possibly not worth over a hundred euros a night. Especially with added donation for pellet stove fuel. Maybe more of a summer destination.

What a peaceful beautiful place is it! We had a lovely time at this accomodating house, just by the hiking train with peaceful sound of a stream. The house is clean, had everything one needs, nice equipped kitchen and a forest as your backyard.

We wanted a relaxing weekend to read and no distractions from electronics or phones. Mission accomplished. Only distraction were giant flies making their way into the house somehow, but since the front of the house is lined with wonderful windows you would open them briefly to release the fly back outside. It was truly the only disruption to our solitude. Small price for being lost in the woods for awhile.

Such a lovely place. Will def return, prob Aly many times! The biggest compliment I can offer is that I wish it was mine!
