The location is so beautiful but some simple updates would make a huge difference. This place is full of Caribbean charm but could use a fresh coat of paint and the roof is really loud in the wind.

Nice local family running a guest house with a great view. They also have a little bar/shop out front where you can buy food AND I was fortunate enough to stay Friday night, which is karaoke night. Yes, the place is a little run down. But you'll survive.

On the plus side, cheap and a bit cheerful with great views of Maracas bay. Staff helpful. Bed very comfortable. On the downside the property is quite run down and the room we stayed in needed the walls and ceilings to be cleaned at least and ideally re-painting. Lots of bugs - that's to be expected given its location really - but the owner could provide a mosquito net over the beds as there was a lot of them and an insect screen on the windows (both inexpensive and available in many other places we stayed in T&T. Also the small balcony is nice but when it rains there is no way for the water to drain away.

Simone was incredibly responsive and had great suggestions and useful information. Her place is extremely simple (as reflected in photos), no frills whatsoever (not even a kitchen, only a small fridge), and as she clearly points out, no AC. The ceiling fan helped though the warmth at times was a bit much. Her location is absolutely amazing, incredible views of Maracas Bay both from the cute little personal deck that comes with the room as well as the deck area of her bar/restaurant. WiFi was very good, at all times. Easy walking distance to the beach (about 12 mins). While this is not her fault at all, my last night there was some INCREDIBLY loud music coming up I think from the beach area (Sundays are big there, I think), that went from 6 pm to 2 am, which meant no sleep for me. Again, nothing to do with Simone, but I thought it important to note. Overall, a good place for a beachcomber!
