A special home built with an organic architecture design. A DIY project in evolution. Honey bees, fruit trees, a small aromatics plantation. The house sits up on the slope of the Pirque mountain, nestled into the native forest, overlooking the valley of El Hoyo. There is a swimming pool with a deck to enjoy the views and quiet surroundings. The property is located 4 kms from Puerto Patriada, Lake Epuyen. 5 kms to Ruta 40 Check the insta for more pictures and stories: dtpatagonia.fjellhuset The space is ideal for a couple, a small family, or 3 adults (4 fit). There is one master bedroom and a small loft room for an individual (an adult fits, however it is thought out for a child), as well as a single bed/ day bed. The cabin was built under passive house principles; oriented to have maximum coolness and shade in the summer, and full exposure to light in the winter. Thickly insulated walls of natural materials that breath and create a stable comfortable temperature without excessive heating or cooling necessary. The property is in its early days of being developed, and house and property become each year more civilized and comfortable. In general, permaculture practices influence the development and use of the grounds. There is a compost station on site for the garden and kitchen. The hot water heater is solar powered with an electrical backup. Guests are welcome to taste and enjoy both the wild and cultivated of the property :) Fruit, herbs, vegetables, honey; it depends on what time of the year you show up in, but there will always be local treats available to connect you with the season!

I cannot recommend this place enough, it's even more beautiful than the pictures. The whole setup is incredibly peaceful, a magical view over the valley and you can watch hummingbirds on the patio. The house has everything you need, a super comfy mattress, lots of cozy little spaces to relax in and around the house and you can see so much love in all the little details. Dinah is an incredible host, communication was always easy and just so welcoming, warm and helpful. This was hands down the best airbnb experience I've ever had. For anyone wondering, it's doable without a car, you can take a taxi to the house, there is a small shop with all the basics within an walking distance and I hitchhiked to Lago Epuyén several times to do some hikes from there - everyone is super friendly. If you're looking for a place to get away from it all for a while, this is it.
I returned to Dinah’s Fjellhuset this year after having visited in her first year listing it on Airbnb. Not only was the place so magical the first time i visited that i dreamt about coming back one day, once i finally did it was even BETTER. Dinah’s place is a little piece of paradise, it’s so peaceful, has everything you might need, she received us with fresh vegetables and fruit from her garden and honey from her own bees ❤️ The home is spacious and comfortable and the location is just the most wonderful bit of mountainside you could imagine. Do stay at Dinah’s, i will be going back any chance i get ✨

Dinah's place was amazing and very peaceful. Felt right at home. We didn't need to leave to find a place to relax, we could just spend the day at the property and enjoy the views and amenities. Dinah is very friendly and has lots of recommendations of what to do in the area.

A rural neighborhood of small family plots of land. Farm animals, gardens, small scale farm production. Traditional Patagonian pioneer lifestyle mixed with expats from all over. Horses, cars, bicycles and walking are all regular forms of transportation (depending on your activity)- hitch hiking is also a common event because it is a small community. There is also a growing community of small business owners who rent out cabins touristically, as the town and surrounding areas become more visited destinations. Here you can find all sorts of local productions; fresh produce, conserves, artisan products, as well as all sorts of alternative therapies from massage, reiki, tai chi, acupuncture,.. adventures like horse back riding, hiking, boat trips ( all day kayak excursiones with lunch included at the lake nearby), It’s all here ;)
You need a vehicle to get around! The house is located 5kms from the ruta 40 along a gravel road and up a street with two hills. In general, to get around the Comarca Andina, it is advisable to have a car because there are so many kms to travel between all of the interesting sites!
If you do not have a car, taxis are readily available, and there is an intermittent bus service that connects El Hoyo with Epuyén, Lago Puelo and El Bolsón.
If you want to come and stay here and do not have a vehicle, it is not a detriment - we can hire a private car service and organize a way for you to enjoy what the neighborhood and area have to offer!!
