This farm of 80 hectares houses a large family home (built in 1780) newly renovated. The gite has 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms , a spacious lounge, dining kitchen area that opens onto charming French gardens. Incl. Ozone swimming pool with secured access, sunbeds Apart from the gite, there is a stable block containing : table seating 8, "plancha" hotplate; games room with table tennis, babyfoot. In front, there is a very large lawn/play area (2000m2) . With Shade under the old chestnut tree. At the end of a magnificent drive lined with parasol pine trees, the long façade of la Pomarède comes into view. At sunset one can admire the reddening branches of the three-hundred-year-old pines in front of the "gîte". Nature is protected on this estate. You will enjoy to read or dream quietly in the shade of the old chestnut tree overlooking the "gîte", as well wander along the lane bordering the fields, sharing them with pheasants, birds or a herd of roe-deers. The gite is a 2 storey home. You will find the 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms located on the first floor. The kitchen, lounge and dining area located on the ground floor and open onto the garden on 2 sides. Easy access by car/ train, plane (Toulouse, Carcassonne)

Beautiful and peaceful place, with lovely hosts. The pool is a great escape from the summer heat, as is the gite itself which stays wonderfully cool. We loved the nearby aqua park - great for teenagers - and sitting under the shade of the tree.
We have just returned from a perfect two week family holiday in a beautiful house surrounded by amazing countryside. The whole of our family had such a wonderful time playing table-tennis, riding bicycles, relaxing under the shade of the trees, reading books, cooking food outside on the gas plancha, playing cards and drinking too much delicious local wine. Absolutely magical! Béatrice and Oliver were the perfect hosts - they provided us with plenty of useful information about the area and suggested trips to local villages and towns that they thought we would enjoy (Thursday night in Carla-Bayle was our highlight). But they were also not over-bearing and kept themselves to themselves. We hesitated before we booked the accommodation due to the shared pool. But in reality it was no problem at all - a simple timetable allowed us to allocate slots for the days ahead. So don't let that deter you. THE BEST TIME EVER!!!
'La Pomarède' : un havre de paix dans un très bel écrin de verdure et dont les propriétaires ont un vrai sens de l'accueil.Nous avons passé une belle semaine avec nos enfants dans une maison vraiment agréable, impeccable, pleine de charme et où rien ne manque. Nous avons aussi bien apprécié plonger dans la piscine après nos diverses pérégrinations dans une région riche en trésors. Nous recommandons vivement ce gîte .
La Pomarede is a special place . We loved the peace , the light and the views. Having shade under the chestnut tree, sun by the pool, a large table for outside dining and table tennis for fun times meant it was easy not to go far and to truly relax . Beatrice and Oliver are extremely kind hosts and always willing to help .

From the A66 motorway take Exit n°2 "Mazères/Saverdun".
In Saverdun town centre, go past the staion and continue for 1,3km to the next crossroads.
At the crossroads turn right, signposted "Justiniac", along the D62.
After 1,2km turn right into the "Chemin des Courtettes". 400m further on is the drive lined with parasol pines leading to la Pomarède.

Sur l’A 66, prendre la sortie n°2 "Mazères/Saverdun".
Dans Saverdun, passer devant la gare puis faire 1,3km jusqu’au 1er carrefour.
Là, prendre à droite direction "Justiniac" sur la D62.
Faire 1,2km puis prendre à droite le « chemin des Courtettes ». 400m plus loin se trouve l’allée de pins parasol menant à la Pomarède.

I lived abroad during 30 years with my husband Olivier who did research in various coffee and cocoa producing countries . Our 3 children were born and brought up in Africa, Asia and Central America . And I used to teach to the children how to paint and to make sculpture . Back in France, we settled in "la Pomarède" where I have a big "atelier" facing the mountains. We enjoy meeting people from other culture and helping them to discover the Ariege.
