Simply amazing experience! Our family of 6 stayed 5 days 4 nights and everyone, even the 2 kids aged 7 and 10, enjoyed our stay. I was worried that they may not adjust to the "eco" lifestyle but my worries were unfounded. They experienced things for 1st time ever like riding on a motorcycle, driving a speedboat and swimming at a waterfall. Ratna, Thomas and team were great hosts and always approachable. We had several days there so we could discuss what to do like taking a boat or car out, or just simply chill in the resort and try our hand at the different things they do here. There is plenty of information provided in the photos and the rooms are better in real life. The traveling from Medan airport to Parapat is a long one, would advice to travel in the day as the journey at night is way too "exciting". Next time we will try to come via Silangit airport and maybe explore the area south of Samosir Island. Ratna is an inspiration, there needs to be a book or Netflix show on her!

To the owners please judge less, understand more. You told you’ve been running the place for years. Meet every new people. Thought you were open minded. Not everyone has the same mind like you. The wife underestimates Indonesian that much and she’s Indonesian. I came for vacation ending it with feeling regret and not feeling good, and that’s okay, I learned that not everyone has the same understanding like me. I tried to understand them but the way they treated me the talkings. Hope you guys learn too. Not highlighy recommended for Indonesians. Otherwise kalian liburan tapi di judge dan di nyinyirin sama mulut mereka which is not fun to spend your vacation.

We had a great time at the eco farm stay, the food was fresh and good. The lake was serene and the staff are so friendly and knowledgable! We had a great time there paddle boarding and checking out the farm!

I am born in our old house in Silimalombu. I grown up here and I started 2008 to create a Ecovillage here. Still it is the beginning. But out of my initiative already the village is clean and the most families have a small garden here. But still it is a lot to do. Already we created now the guesthouse, we make wine, Graviola Teas, Solarpower, LED lamps, planting a lot of fruits and trees. At beginning of 2017 the whole clan now made the decision to create a foundation to create the Ecovillage Silimalombu. We now go there to create it. Each guest who come, give us the possibility to create more and more. My dream is, that the world is getting a paradise again. We want to start with this in Silimalombu, than whole Samosir, Lake Toba area, Indonesia and the rest of the world. We want, that everything what grows, everybody can eat. We started planting......
