Domaine de la Bade is a stunning home away from home in Raissac-sur-Lampy in the sunny South of France. Near the world famous Unesco World Heritage site of Carcassonne, we completely redesigned a traditional farmhouse with old barns into five contemporary barn chic style holiday houses (gȋtes). With spectacular views of the Carcassonne valley and the Pyrenees, Domaine de la Bade is the ideal location to enjoy a sophisticated yet relaxed holiday in this charming region of the South of France. Come and enjoy the sunny terraces, shady corners, nice hammocks, great swimming pool, delicious food, fine wines and above all the relaxed and informal atmosphere where you can truly feel at home. The holiday house: Located in “la Bergerie” – the fully renovated old farmhouse barn – Gîte Corbières is situated on a hilltop, a stones throw away from Carcassonne with a magnificent view on the valley and the Pyrenees. This stylish gîte of 94 m2 is a spacious home away from home for 4. Large panoramic terrace doors provide access to your private terrace with BBQ and breathtaking views of the countryside.
Domaine de la Bade is located near Carcassonne in the beautiful Languedoc-Roussillon region of the sunny South of France. The property is surrounded by sunflower fields, vineyards and olive groves. There are no busy roads which run along the domain and there is plenty of room to enjoy the outdoors and unwind.
The Cathar country (as this area is called), is a warm and hospitable place, with a unique heritage, splendid landscapes, and inhabitants with a strong taste for celebration and sharing.
In the immediate vicinity there is lots to see and do. The walled city of Carcassonne, the largest castle in Europe, is only 15 km away. Near Carcassonne is also a large lake with a nice sandy beach (ideal for children) and an adventure park with climbing and clambering tracks which is one of the highlights for slightly older kids.
The beautiful surroundings with hills, mountains, rivers, lakes and typical French villages have much to offer in terms of sporting activities, mountain biking, cycling, hiking, white water canoeing, rafting, swimming, fishing, boating, caving, skiing, wind surfing , catamaran sailing, horse riding, tennis, golf and much more.
Eating & drinking is amongst the favorite pastimes of the locals and the area is blessed with great restaurants, fantastic markets and many vineyards where a glass of wine can be tasted. But a nice cup of coffee on a sleepy outdoor café nearby or a cosy picnic along the beautiful Canal du Midi is also un-resistable.
There is a lot to see and do in the Cathar country of the Aude. Your hosts are more than happy to share their favorite places and help you find the gems of the region (on and off the beaten track).
Domaine de la Bade is easy accessible by car, air and train. A car is recommended to make the most of your stay within the region.
By Car:
The road links are excellent and Domaine de la Bade is easily accessible from the A61 exit Bram (nr. 22, halfway Toulouse -Narbonne). Domaine de la Bade is located 8km from the exit Bram.

By Air:
Domaine de la Bade is conveniently located with six airports servicing the region. Carcassonne is the closest being only 20 minutes away but Toulouse (89km), Beziers (128km), Montpellier (184km), Perpignan (138km) and Girona (243km) are within easy reach. These airports are served by a number of low cost airlines from the UK and Europe.
By rail:

Joep and Miranda lived in Belgium for 7 years, before relocating to France, where they live since the beginning of 2011. Joep is a wine specialist and great cook. He is one of the select group of vinologues of the Wine Academy in The Netherlands and wines have not only been his passion but his profession for over 10 years. He cannot wait to introduce you to the culinary delights the Languedoc-Rousillion region has to offer you. Miranda Born in Wageningen and raised in Herveld (near Nijmegen). A true globe trotter as well, who enjoys traveling through life together with Joep since 1993. Miranda’s background is in hospitality. As an alumni of the Leeuwarden Institute of International Hospitality Management she has worked in the hotel, meetings & events industry for over 14 years, honing a unique understanding of service and the very best in hospitality. Her different jobs have taken her all over the world and resulted in a broad understanding of and respect for many different cultures. It also fueled her passion for travel and the creation of meaningful connections with people from all over the world.
