Short way to Nyksund and Stø which are authentic fishing villages and starting points for Dronningruta, rib cruises and whale safari. Very child-friendly area with beaches and hiking trails right outside the door. Plenty of space for parking. Beautiful holiday home built in 2013 with fantastic panoramic views of the fjord. The house is located on Gisløy in Øksnes municipality, one of Northern Norway's most important fishing municipalities. Bright and nicely decorated with large windows. Here you can fish all year round or experience the midnight sun. Or just enjoy the amazing scenery. You can rent a boat with a driver, go on a Ribs cruise and take fantastic hikes. Most famous is the Dronningsruta between Stø and Nyksund. The area offers lots of exciting activities for the kids: here nature is the playground! Crab hunting on the shore, large, car-free areas and small woods and hills around the holiday home. The house is great for families, friends or couples. 1st floor: Open floor plan with plenty of space around the dining table and well-equipped kitchen. Fireplace in the living room for colder days. Bathroom with washer and dryer. The bedroom on this floor has a double bed and direct access to the terrace. 2nd floor: 2 bedrooms with single beds that can be pushed together if desired. Attic living room with sofa bed, as well as a small TV room. There is also access to a balcony. Extra mattresses and cot available if required. Practical info about the local area: Gisløystranda is a 10 min walk from the house and is a beautiful sandy beach. There are also play equipment, a volleyball court, charcoal and gas grills, as well as a well-equipped beach house run by Gisløystrand's friends. This is open to the public. The nearest town is Myre, 13 km away. Here you will find grocery stores, bakery, toy store and liquor store, as well as sports shops and shops selling fishing equipment and the like. There are also a couple of restaurants, pubs and a fast food restaurant. An hour's drive away is Sortland. Here there is a shopping center and a wider selection of shops and restaurants, as well as Hurtigruten port. Sightseeing: The fishing village Nyksund is a short drive from Gisløya and offers history and beautiful scenery. Here you will also find open restaurants and small souvenir shops. Dronningruten (the queens route) goes between Stø to Nyksund, which is a very popular hiking trail. Here you can choose to walk over the mountain, or the path along the sea. If you are really fit, you can walk over the mountain to Nyksund and take the return along the sea. Many also choose to park the car in Stø, and then book a Rib cruise back from Nyksund. A wonderful experience, which can definitely be recommended! Bleik, Andøya. If you have the time and opportunity, a day trip to Bleik is a great experience. Eternal white beaches and beautiful mountain hikes. And a must-have coffee and cake at the local convenience store cafe. By sea. The scheduled boat runs twice a day from Myre and drives past Skogsøya, the fishing village Skipnes and other beautiful places. Take the boat out in the morning, and back in the afternoon. Skipnes also offers accommodation if you want to stay the night and Skogsøya has a lot of good camping spots.
