The old hospital, Villa Malmbo, is in the middle of a beautiful green area called Malmnäs, which is close to many services, such as restaurants, grocery stores etc ( ca. 1.5km from the town center). Malmnäs is the former residential area of the management of the lime stone mining industry, established hundreds of years ago. Malmnäs also includes a big apple orchard, available to our guests, and some piers and a nice sandy beach. Most of the industry is 1-2 km away and the sound level from the factories has not been experienced as disturbing by our guests. Also the traffic noise is almost zero, consisting only of occasional cars driving slowly 20-30 m from the house. Furuvik, a country house 300 meters away, occasionally arranges some events (like weddings etc.), which have not been noisy either. To sum up: neighbourhood shouldn’t cause any disturbances.
There is also a golf course a few kilometers away, and a tennis course about 1km away.

Public transport from Turku or by car takes about 30 minutes.
There are direct flights to Turku airport from Hesinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Gdansk and London. Taxis and car rentals are available at the airport.
You can wander by the beaches, or on the paths or rent an electric bike from us. A kayak and a rowing boat is also available upon request. Electric outboard motor is also available, if You want to go a bit faster but still enjoy the quiet surroundings. You can visit nearby islands such as Tjuven.
A typical trip especially during the summer months is to Nagu ( Nauvo in Finnish), which is a nice harbour village. The free ferries are carry cars and passangers over the sea. Only weekend traffic can sometimes be delayed by queues. From Nagu you can continue to Korpo.
Another popular route to the archipelago starts from Granvik. From there you can do some “hop on – hop off” - tours into Heisala, Kuggö or Pensar.
All the ferry traffic (except Houtskär - Iniö) is free of charge!
