I am a retired Registered Nurse and my husband Oliver is an Engineer. We are new residents to Hawkes Bay after 35 years living and working in Auckland We have been fortunate to have travelled world wide and enjoy travel....and people! We both love having house guests and are looking forward to meeting and greeting visitors to our special piece of paradise, that is Puketapu. We have a wonderful garden planted in NZ native trees, specimen flowering trees and shrubs We also have a duck pond with varying ducks. We will be here while you visit ....we’re the gardeners! We are also passionate vintage car enthusiasts and have spent the last 35 years driving throughout NZ. We have a couple of special and much loved vehicles here ...the roads around here are ideal for wonderful touring. We are in an area that celebrates the Art Deco era annually. Napier was rebuilt after the 1931 earthquake that destroyed many colonial buildings. It’s well worth being here to see the city celebrate. We both enjoy biking and the myriad of bike trails available are immediately out of the gateway. Needless to say the abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables make seasonal eating easy We also enjoy tasting the many wine varietals locally grown and enjoy long lunches at the local vineyards Summer time will see us down at the Tutaekuri River bank picnicking with our grandchildren “Lonely Planet” says the Puketapu loop is in the top 10 of the prettiest bike and walking track ......come see, and enjoy it too.
