Lucky us! We booked a three-month long job in Long Island! I’d never been to that part of New York and was having trouble finding a place that would allow me to rent for that amount of time. Thank goodness we found Peter and Christa! We loved them from the moment we met them! They are, without a doubt, the most accommodating hosts I’ve ever dealt with. Their bungalow is in a safe, quiet and walk-friendly neighborhood. Not only was it convenient to my work, but also it’s near some great Indian and Thai restaurants as well as several grocery stores (including Wholefoods.) There are several shopping centers blocks from their Airbnb, and it’s less than a mile from the Long Island Railroad! Perfect location! If I visit the Bethpage/Hicksville area again, I will without question check on Peter and Christa’s place before I check any other! Thanks guys, for making me feel at home three thousand miles away from my actual home!
The first night the pilot light was out and there was no heat, making it 50 degrees inside. There were glade plug ins all over the house to mask the stench of cigarette smoke. The room that had to be entered to reach the main house smelled lHORRIBLY of smoke. So much so that I would hold my breath to walk through it. Last, there are ants everywhere. Peter is accusing me of leaving eggs in EVERY room to make an excuse for the ants. We are only in the kitchen and I did dishes after each meal and then loaded the dishwasher at the end. One night he continued to message me until midnight about the checkout.
The host couldn’t have been more helpful. The bungalow was spotless and the location was great. The backyard was lovely. We would recommend to everyone. We look forward to our next stay.
This is a cute little bungalow if you are looking for a place to get away from the surrounding hustle and bustle. The backyard made for an excellent reading location and the proximity to restaurants was great! The house was very clean, and Peter was very responsive to any questions we had. He also offered some good suggestions for things to do in the surrounding area!
The location is new a needs a little bit more fine-tuning, but it was a charming location and the host was very hospitable and responsive.
