The Village has many unique sites and can occupy a visitor for many days without leaving. If you walk up into the mountains, you will find the Quarry with breathtaking views and also the Cranny waterfall, if you venture further up you will find the lake and you can walk all the way across into the neighboring town of Cushendun. Since the house is on the ocean, you are just a few steps from the harbour where you can take a boat ride or have an ice cream and pass the time looking at all of the characters.
The beach in Carnlough is actually one of the greatest sandy beaches in the UK and at low tide, it provides a huge area on which to play.
The two nearest towns are Larne and Ballymena, both require a short car ride which can be provided by one of the local taxi drivers or a bus that runs frequently through the day.
If you drive north along the Antrim Coast Road, you will come to different Glens, the first being Glenariff, the "Queen of the Glens" which has a state park with amazing views.
Continuing North, you will come to Ballymena where you can take a ferry to Rathlin Island or you can drive further on to the Carickarede Rope Bridge and the world famous Giants Causeway.
