I typically dont give 5 stars for anything. This is most definitely one of those times that I do. To say that this was a great stay does not give nearly enough justice. The time I spent here with my friends is something i won’t forget for my entire life. I will forever think of this place as the home for the memories i created and cherish. The cleanliness, convenience, and overall awe of the surrounding area is amazing. Super convenient to transportation and Steph was kind enough to let us know how exactly to navigate around which helped a whole lot. If you’re looking for a great New York experience where you really feel as if you live there, this is it!

Sadly this was not a good place to stay. From the start, we got to the place around 11pm and even though I was texting the host to be ready when we got there, he left us in the street for over 30minutes. Not a single sorry for it. The bathrooms didn’t have a mirror, and didn’t have toilet paper until the next day, because we had to ask for it. The apartment it’s very cold, and even though we ask for the heat to be on, we didn’t feel any heat until our last night. We were there for four nights. The beds didn’t have blanket covers, only a thin sheet. We were given blankets the last night. Overall a very bad experience. For the money that we paid, over $200 a night, there should be a better treatment. Not coming back for sure.

Mixed feelings about this place! Firstly although I had contacted Steph a few days before to confirm my booking and arrival times and then on day of arrival had given him thirty minutes notice when that we were on our way we were not met by Steph and I was left waiting in the street with three children. Several calls to Steph knocked on various doors in a block but no answer. Eventually had to contact air bnb customer support who contacted Steph and we were eventually able to check in. Steph was very apologetic. During our stay Steph gave great information about the area and transport and was overall a nice host. The apartment is large and clean and pictures are accurate. It has two very good showers and built in wardrobes in every room which were excellent, however the apartment could do with bath mats to stop slipping when leaving the shower, bedside cabinets as shown in pictures, mirrors in bathroom, shelves or hooks in bathroom to put products, some sort of comfortable seating like a small sofa rather than just dining table and chairs. AC in rooms were fantastic. WiFi excellent. The front bedrooms are very noisy as they face a busy road so from 5.30am I was woken by car horns, sirens, loud music from cars, revving engines etc. As stated in listing breakfast is not provided but you can get breakfast for a discounted price from Steph’s cafe which is a few doors down. My kids bought juices from there which were pleasant. Also disappointed that I had requested a tv from Steph which he agreed to supply but then didn’t. Location of home is ok but you need to take a bus to the nearest subway which then takes you directly to Manhattan all in all about an hour to manhattan. Lots of local shops such as hair, food and restaurants nearby. There is no washing facilities on site but a laundromat is very close by which is very reasonably priced. It was a surprise that on day 4 of our stay we found a very large flying cockroach in the room my daughter was sleeping in! It was mentioned to Steph but he never addressed it, I think it was a one off but just seen another review that mentioned seeing a cockroach as well. Finally i would recommend this place as it’s good, but I don’t think I would stay here again just do to travel distance and wanting more home comforts.
