Yes, I love Paris but to experience the beautiful French countryside at a beautiful chateau is not to be missed, especially at the Chateau de Balsac. Balsac is a small village and if you really want to get away, there is no place better. While they do have wifi available I took the opportunity to completely disconnect from all devices. It was a perfect place to do it. Roland and Malana were fantastic hosts and very knowledgeable about the history of the Chateau as well as things to do in the area. A visit to the cathedral in nearby Rodez is not to be missed. It is quite magnificent. A trip to the local market in Rodez is also a must. There are plenty of beautiful French villages nearby as well as some wonderful Michelin starred restaurant. Our room felt quite regal, an enormous space with beautiful views of the beautiful landscape down below and the beautiful countryside. The bathroom feels like a whole other bedroom. Taking a shower in the glass enclosed shower while able to stare out for miles out the window of the French countryside is fabulous. I can't wait to return.
