The Riviera dei Fiori is the western part of the Riviera di Ponente.
It is such a beautiful stretch of coast that the famous Italian poet Eugenio Montale sang its praises in his poems.
This marvelous territory develops entirely in the province of Imperia and lies between the state border between France and Italy, in Ventimiglia, and Capo Mimosa in the municipality of Cervo.
The Riviera dei Fiori offers unique views and panoramas: the sea, nature and the many medieval villages with which both the coast and the hinterland are dotted, make this stretch of Riviera an ideal destination for holidays, all year long.
From the medieval villages perched on the hinterland hills, you descend to the sea, where the panorama becomes more typically Mediterranean, through olive groves and Rossese vineyards.
Here on the coast the main tourist resorts of the Riviera dei fiori are:
Cervo: small village overlooking the Dianese Gulf. A real historical-architectural jewel perched on a strategic spur, just above the sea;
Diano Marina: a town of elegant hotels, buildings with Liberty decorations hidden among the trees of the avenues and beautiful villas illuminated by the sun on the green slopes of Capo Berta;
Imperia: capital of the province and made up of two centers, Oneglia and Porto Maurizio;
Arma di Taggia: a tourist town with pleasant sandy beaches;
Sanremo: city of the Italian Song Festival and city of flowers;
Bordighera: The city of palm trees, with its wonderful historic center, its elegant architecture and its crystal clear sea;
Ventimiglia: the border town, full of history and hidden wonders.
The cycle path of the Riviera: "They" say it is the most beautiful cycle path in Europe: maybe a ranking doesn’t exist, but this great recovery work has something extraordinary. It took years of work to see it inaugurate, the Giro d’Italia and Milan-Sanremo to celebrate it, but now the cycle path between San Lorenzo al Mare and Ospedaletti is a reality.
For at least eight, nine months of the year, cyclists, runners and pedestrians walk it.
Today, the whole area around the town has been enhanced and is part of the Riviera dei Fiori coastal park. If once on the train that passed here noble Italian, Russian and English owners were traveling, today tourists from all over the world pedal or walk on the track.

The motorways connect the four provinces of Imperia, Savona, Genoa and La Spezia and the main towns in our region to the main Italian cities.
The trunk roads or the provincial roads connect all the municipalities in Liguria, by connecting all the places by the sea to those of the inland. Moreover, the entire Ligurian coast is crossed by the trunk road No 1 Aurelia (SS1).
The railway network crosses almost all of our region, linking the four provinces of Imperia, Savona, Genoa and La Spezia and a lot of municipalities of the Ligurian coast and the inland. Genova Piazza Principe and Genova Brignole stations, two of the most important Italian stations, are the largest and best served in the city. From these stations a lot of trains arrive and depart from and to the major Italian cities such as Milan, Turin, Rome and Bologna.
The two stations are located on the city subway; once you get into town, you can choose among other types of public transportation: taxis, the coaches which travel to the inland or small towns and buses. For further information, please see the Trenitalia site.
In Liguria there are two civil airports, one in Genoa and one in Villanova d'Albenga.
Well connected to urban and freeways and always open, the "Cristoforo Colombo” Airport in Genoa connects our region with the main Italian and European cities thanks to national and international airlines' flights. The airport is in Genoa Sestri and it is located at only six kilometers from the city center. You can get there by public or private means, as the railway stations and the city center are connected to the airport thanks to the AMT bus, the company Mobility and urban transport. If you want to get on the motorway, the "Genoa - Airport" tollbooth is on the A-10.
The “Clemente Panero” Airport in Villanova d’Albenga is located a few kilometers from the most important tourist municipalities of the Riviera di Ponente and the Cote d'Azur.
Moreover, you can easily get in Liguria from the airports of the neighboring regions such as "San Giusto" Airport in Pisa, Milan Airports, Orio al Serio international Airport in Bergamo and the Nice Airport.
