Hi, the owner Chaminda and his team are lovely people. I think the house needs some love and attention and there were a few major safety concerns. I hope Chaminda can correct them to get the property back up and running. These included open well, broken glass, flies, bird poo. The house needs a good cleaning and maintenance. Additionally the house is nice but please note it is in the middle of a very lively area, it isn't secluded in the depths of vegetation as the pictures may make it seem, as long as you are aware of this.

There were just 6 of us and we figured things out on our own for the most part. The host was mostly unavailable and hard to connect with which leaves the friendly, but random chaps who apparently stay on the property to assist. Communication (in English) is rather poor. One is supposed to be a cook, who you’ll need to pay even if he doesn’t cook. The other is the caretaker. Both very nice! It’s an open air format in the house, which is cool, but somehow doesn’t feel like a place you want to hang out. Pool needs regular cleaning. Bedrooms have mosquito nets and AC (necessary). WiFi is terrible except in certain spots in the house. House is located up a non-descript road. Nothing really to see or walk to, but it is close enough to reach the ocean through town or take a tuk-tuk to some restaurants or resorts which is where we spent most of our days. There is a nice TV with plenty of options. All said we loved Sri Lanka and being able to explore from this nice home base.

As a group of ten, we loved everything about Chami's Villa. The entire place is a piece of art, with a rich history, making you feel like you are stepping back in time, while not compromising on any of the comforts you'd expect on holiday. The staff were great and were always around to help us with everything, including buying groceries, preparing meals or arranging transportation whenever we needed. They made sure we had fresh towels and cleaned up by the place every morning by the time we woke up. The value for money is also great, as you'd expect to be paying much more for what you get here. It was great to meet you Chami, and looking forward to seeing you again. Thanks!
