Dennis is very nice full of good information..the cabin is very cute love all the wood work ...I didn't stay there I rented the cabin for my friends ..but I definitelywill stay there one day when I need to get away ...
A very nice place to stay. I would stay here again! Small, cozy, but had everything I need.
Perfect place for my wife and I to stay for a couple days. Cute little house, very clean. The only thing was there were fruit flies around the toilet, which was expected. Other than that we had a great experience and wouldn’t mind doing it again. Host was very welcoming and very clear with what we were instructed to do.
Never stayed in a tiny house before so this was a great first experience. The composting toilet worked well. Didn’t smell up the place. As you can see from the pix, there’s no privacy in the shower and only a little around the toilet. The loft ladder has nice wide treads and very solid hand rails so climbing up and down was easy (watch your head when you first get to the top!). The tv had only streaming channels available, but that was good enough for us. WiFi was acceptable, even for watching phone videos. Out our windows in the morning we could see wild turkeys. Dennis maintains a trail from the Dead End sign down to a hammock and benches close to the river. Sink, fridge, microwave, shower all worked as expected. Towels and wash cloths and linens were fresh and clean. If you’ve never stayed in a tiny house before, this is a good first experience.
We had never stayed in a 'tiny house' cabin before, where everything is basically in one room, with the bed in a loft. We thoroughly enjoyed it, even learning to use a compost toilet. The instructions were well-written and understandable. The cabin, with trees around it and a river at the bottom of the valley below, was quite enjoyable. We didn't meet Ruth, but we had a very enjoyable conversation with Dennis, and learned a lot about the area, where we are contemplating relocating. Dennis and Ruth made it quite clear that if we needed anything or had questions, all we needed to do was reach out, but they had provided everything we needed.
Loads of History here.
Within Feet from your door, trace the footsteps of Davy Crockett along the trail he walked many times in his youth to fend off the "Creek" Indians
that threatened the early settlers, from the centuries old Fort across the road.
David Crockett Birthplace State Historic Park is an 8 minute drive.
In the heart of the Menonite Community enjoy a winding drive through some of the most fertile farmland and immaculately groomed homes and barns while attempting to keep your vehicle between the lines while constantly distracted by the spectacular views of the Smokey Mountains. This ends up all too soon at the Farmers Daughter family style restaurant or the Mountain View Bulk foods store where you might rather rock on the porch than shop!
Your friendly knowlegeable hosts will gladly assist in any way possible to make your stay memorable.
