We loved this place! It's outside of busy city, but still nearby grocery, excellent restaurants, pharmacy, etc. Just hour to most places in Rome. Now me you the part. The owners and the neighbors are incredibly hospitable. The Mother, Lucien, I hope I spelled name correctly, is an angel ! She is on grounds every morning to check in and brings breakfast items. One day, we were given fresh milk from the dairy farm nearby. it was delicious! The neighbors even gave us cucumbers from the garden. After we left, we went to another place in Italy and wished we had stayed where we were. Another tim, for certain!

Excellent emplacement. Vue imprenable ! Un accueil chaleureux. La villa se situe non loin de la gare, ce qui facilite le trajet sur Rome. Tout a été parfait. Très bonne communication avec Francesco. Nous recommandons ce lieu sans hésitation.

Maison et jardin très bien entretenus. Lieu clôturé adapté aux familles avec enfants et/ou animaux. Terrasse surplombant une magnifique vallée. Francesco est à notre écoute à tout moment. Merci à lui pour ses conseils et son aide ! Seul petit bémol : la climatisation est dans le séjour et la cuisine, pas dans les chambres… Et quand il fait chaud… Un séjour réussi vivement conseillé pour profiter de la région de la SABINA et de ROME qui est à une heure en train ou en voiture. Un grand merci à Francesco et Luciana pour leur accueil et leur gentillesse !

After the crowds of Rome, this was a lovely and rejuvenating holiday. Most of the time we stayed in the Sabina area exploring medieval towns or just enjoying the lovely villa deck, but on two days we left to go farther afield - once to Bracciano [this was about an hour away - I highly recommend the medieval castle; the lake was refreshing for a swim but it was *not easy* to find the public beach entry], and another time back to Rome [we left our car at the train station and took the train ca. 1 hr in and out - very convenient!]. A couple of things to keep in mind: 1) this area has narrow and winding roads, so make sure you are comfortable driving in those conditions; 2) during the early part of our stay [Mon-Tues] it was not easy finding open restaurants for dinner, as they are small establishments and close when they need a break. Also, google was not accurate about opening times/days, so make sure to call ahead; 3) the town of Poggio Mirteto itself has a great restaurant and gelateria, and that's only about 10 minutes away from the villa. Francesco and his mother were super sweet and helpful, and made our stay relaxing and trouble-free. The fresh croissants and milk from the dairy farm up the road were thoughtful, and the kitchen was well-stocked with basic jams, breads, eggs, etc. for our first days. The fresh fruit from the orchard was amazing - I have never tasted such delicious apricots! In all, a little piece of heaven in Lazio, and highly recommended for a relaxing recovery from the stress of the capital!
