Our only problem was that we were only staying one night as we were using Santorini as a stop over to get to another island. Wish we could have stayed longer. The cave house is gorgeous. It has everything you could possibly need with lots of individual touches too. The terrace is a wonderful place to enjoy the evening sun and watch the sunset. Pyrgos is a wonderful place to explore with lots of lovely restaurants. The views are amazing. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Elena’s Cave House was exactly as described. Her son was our driver from the port and back to the airport at the end of our stay (for a fair fee). The village is so lovely. We enjoyed wandering the stairs and alleys and chatting with local shopkeepers. I was pleasantly surprised to see a view of the water and sunsets from the house (from the upper deck). We didn’t end up using the kitchen because local restaurants were awesome and walkable, but it was fully equipped, had we chosen to stay in. Definitely pay attention to the advice to pack lightly! The haul up the stairs from street level to the house would be beastly if you have heavy or bulky luggage!

I spent 6 days in Santorini nestled away in the village of Pyrgos. There’s so much rich history and an incredible landscape in this area. Finding an Uber to other parts of the island was easy. Elena and her son picked me up and dropped me off for my arrival and departure. What a warm and friendly family and beautiful home!! I felt so comfortable and enjoyed the natural light and beautiful coziness of a traditional (with a modern twist) cave house.

Lovely, convenient, and well-appointed. For travelers wanting to see a non-resort side of Santorini, still plenty to do in walking distance or via short bus rides. Host helped us find the place and then easy to explore on our own. Enjoy the views and bring comfortable walking shoes! Be sure to explore all the alleyways—there are treasures at every turn.
