This is a home. If you are only looking for a place to lay your head, and you don’t plan to do anything else in the home it would work fine. However if you plan to cook meals it’s probably not the correct place as there was no room in the fridge for our groceries, the dishwasher wasn’t emptied, nowhere in cabinets/closets etc to store food. We did not receive instructions for check in and upon arrival the family was still there having mixed up our arrival time. They asked us to come back an hour later and when we arrived the second time the house had been cleaned but linens were not on the beds. All of this would have been fine if we hadn’t paid so much for a weekend. Given the expense we shouldn’t have to do our own work setting up beds, emptying the dishwasher, making room for our food etc. Not sure what happened this time as we had stayed here before, but the cost has gone up and the experience was not the same.

The house is "close, but not too close" to both campus and dowtown South Bend. That way you avoid traffic or parking problems at or near the house on game days, but you can drive 1 mile, or walk it, and reach the start of the traffic and parking congestition. A lovely house with a nice backyard for eating or relaxing before or after games.
