Stayed here for a five-night getaway in April as a couple and we couldn't fault the place. Cottage has been well refurbed and has all the facilities you need plus a friendly, helpful owner living nearby. Lovely, quiet spot and a great location for exploring the whole of Swaledale by car, cycle or walking. The local pub's food is top notch and the others in the valley are all worth a visit.
Wonderful cottage, so peaceful and views were amazing. Cottage was well equipped and very homely. Owner made us very welcome and was nearby if we had any questions or issues. Thoroughly enjoyed a variety of stunning walks direct from the cottage, and also exploring local area. Best bit was enjoying morning coffee on the little patio, soaking in the view and enjoying the peace and quiet. Would definitely recommend this cottage to others.
A beautiful place to stay. We walked, ran, fished, fed the lambs and barely used the car all week. The house is perfect with stunning views. Everything you need is there. It’s homely and the high quality kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. Two log burners makes it really cosy. Views from the beds are wonderful. Neil (in the barn next to the house) was so helpful - even brought in our shopping and lit the fire for our arrival. The welcome pack was generous too!
It would have been helpful to say follow the signs to the farm or turn by the green garage doors, especially when arriving in the dark. Parking was really only for one car and it was tricky to turn around while avoiding the stone walls. Apart from that we had a lovely break, thank you.
