Friendly staff and wholesome food. But. We were traveling to the southern cape and needed to leave early the next morning. The staff were made aware of this (twice). We were delayed for 45 min due to the staff allowing a other guest to park behind our vehicle. Had to call them to the guest house. Then they did not know in which room the other vehicle’s owner was staying. No apology. Not a pleasant experience. Will not stay there again.

Lovely place in the heart of the historical old town part of Graaff-Reneit. Loved our cottage, Chantelle is a great host, really friendly and empathetic, and the food was delicious! Will stay here again, but want to explore the town for a rew days next time.

We arrived on probably the busiest day of the year so the guest house was full up. We were also late, having made a detour to the Valley of Desolation, catching it close to sunset just after a huge storm - a photographer’s best scenario. So we were checking in whilst other guests were having dinner - juggling many things meant a slower check-in than usual. But once we got to our room, it was lovely, well appointed, good bathroom, fan, patio. Load shedding hit so we came back to a dark room but being familiar with the joys of power interruption, we had our own backup. We had a nightcap sitting outside, listening to the cicadas and enjoying the peace of Graaff Reinet. I would thoroughly recommend Camdeboo Cottages - lovely accommodation, central, well set up.

Fantastic place to stay - clean, spacious rooms and walking distance to the restaurants in town. We always stay here on our way down to Cape Town.

Beware when booking: the room we got looked nothing like the pictures. It was dark and dingy. The shower leaked all over the floor and there was no soap, just someone’s leftover shower gel. The WiFi also didn’t work in the room as it was too far from the router. Unfortunately we had no choice and had to stay as everywhere was fully booked. Most of the front of house staff were not wearing masks as they are required to do. Dinner was adequate but expensive. I would not stay here again.
