Before discovering the mold in my room, this review would have been much different. The host made it seem like it wasn’t that big of an issue and all I had to do was “keep my window open”. Keep in mind Seoul was getting very cold at this time and our apartment was already cold and I was already uncomfortable. All the rooms have mold to some degree. Mine had the worst going down the entire wall. The host was almost surprised that I wanted her or have her hire someone to clean it and not do it myself. It grew back a few weeks later and I found a concerning amount hidden behind my desk, not sure how long it was there. I was sick several times and wondered if this had anything to do with it. I rebooked for spring but cancelled it. Location is the BEST, truly. Subway 3 minutes away by walk and had the best restaurants and cafes right outside the apartment but with the mold and the host coming in randomly, unannounced whenever she feels like it was strange.

Seunghee’s place was in an amazing neighbourhood with tons of cute cafes and restaurants. It was super convenient, within 5 mins walking distance to Sangsu station and the main Hongik shopping street. Spacious private room with bed, desk and full length mirror. Housemates were friendly and helpful, shared spaces were clean. You could feel the springs in the bed, and the aircon made a clicking noise throughout the night, but it didn’t bother me much because I had earplugs in. All in all, a really homely place!!

The location is very convenient in terms of transportation and buying necessities or groceries. The cleanliness of the house is mostly dependent on you and your roommates so be respectful of the shared spaces. If there are issues, the host was very responsive and often solved it within the day.
