Our Trullo is an original 100 sqm typical country house of the Itria Valley. It is entirely made by stones and accommodates up to 5 people. The house is located in the middle of an agricultural reserve and is formed by three "trullos" (cone-shaped rooms) and three "lamias" (rooms with barrel vaults). If you are looking for an authentic Trullo - the original cone-shaped rural houses that are unique in the Itria valley - this is a place that you will love. The house has maintained the original architecture: the insides and the surrounding land have been kept untouched. You can enjoy to the entire house and the two hectars of land that surround the trullo. You can pick fruits and berries. End of August to September: figs, pears, prickly pears, wild blackberries, and almonds. October to November: walnuts, pomegranates, quinces and olives. From spring to late autumn, you can prepare your meals collecting a large variety of wild plants: garlic, asparagus, rocket, fennel, chicory, dandelions, calendula, mint, etc. I live next door and I will be happy to give you all the suggestions you may need to visit the area and all the nice villages and towns that surround the trullo. Cisternino, Martina Franca, Locorotondo, Ostuni e Ceglie Messapica are the five beautiful so called "white towns" ("Città Bianche") very interesting for their architecture and historical centres. Each of the five towns has something special to offer and typical food traditions. Ceglie Messapica - 15 minutes by car - is still quite unknown and a more unique touristic destination. It is strongly recommended to have a car or to rent one at the nearest airport or in Martina Franca (ten minutes by car from the trullo).
