This locations was the perfect combination of peaceful and secure. There were many nice touches that made the stay enjoyable. The kitchen equipment was good quality, the signage was thorough without being invasive and the setting was amazing. Sunrises over the hills were beautiful. The birds in the surrounding bush provided a quiet chorus to welcome the day. I really enjoyed the deck over the house that provided a nice view of the surrounding area. There weren’t many animals visible during my stay in Barkley Cottage. When I walked around the farm, I saw warthogs near cottage #1. It is closer to the Addo boundary. The location was great, not too far from the airport and easy access to the South Gate of Addo. My rented Toyota Starlet did fine on the dirt road as long as I kept the speed down. Communication was great and check in at the nearby A Taste of Africa was super easy.

Die Barkley Cottage2 ist wirklich was besonderes! Einmalige Sonnenauf- und Untergänge und Natur pur um einen herum. Die 6 km Schotterpiste sollte niemanden, auch mit normalen Autos, davor abschrecken diese Airbnb-Wohnung zu mieten. Wir haben es geliebt und würde jederzeit hier wieder zurückkommen. Wirklich was ganz besonderes! Danke an das Team, welches sich immer schnell und gut zurückgemeldet hat✌️❤️

Had a really fantastic stay at the Barkly Cottage. Check-in and getting into the cottage were easy, following the elaborate instructions. The cottage lies on a beautiful remote farm, and with all security we really felt safe. Warthogs on the premises, sounds of jackals crying at night, beautiful sunrise, amazing starry nights and views on a part of Addo: all perfect. Kelly also arranged a game drive for us. Due to last-minute car problems we couldn’t go into Addo, but Winston offered immediately alternatives so we had a great drive into Schotia in an open vehicle. Highly recommended!
