Castleton · 整套乡村小屋 · 3室5床3.0卫 · 可住6人 · Bean Hill Luxury Cottage with garden & parking.
A stunning Grade 2 Listed, farmhouse cottage situated in Castleton, the heart of the Peak District National Park. Luxuriously appointed, with original beams, cosy wood burners, and relaxing furnishings. There are 3 contemporary bathrooms, and a large downstairs bedroom, suitable for guests unable to climb stairs. With a lovely south facing garden and patio, parking for 3 cars, and the central location makes it perfect for walking and eating directly from here. A cozy retreat for up to 6 people. Very few properties in Castleton have off road parking, or a private garden. Our property has both. Our guests have sole use of the private cottage garden and patio, which is in the sunshine all day long. Two of the bedrooms are upstairs, the King and the Double, both of which have en-suite shower rooms. The largest bedroom is downstairs, and has two extra long single beds. This room is suitable for guests who would rather not have to climb any stairs. All the beds have crisp white, freshly ironed cotton hotel bed linen. The adjacent large bathroom has both a double ended bath, and a separate shower cubicle, as well as a basin and WC. The kitchen is also newly appointed, and has a new induction range cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher, and dining table for 6 guests. Both the lounge and the kitchen have Clearview wood burners, for those chilly winter evenings. There is a washing machine in the boiler room, with adequate space to dry out your boots and walking gear. Castleton has six pubs, all of which serve food, and a fabulous Italian inspired restaurant, all within a short stroll. Should you want to venture further afield, Chatsworth House, and the market town of Bakewell, are less than 30minutes drive away. There are regular trains to Hope from both Manchester & Sheffield. Children are welcome, there's lots to do. (No safety gate on stairs though). Please contact me if you would like to check in on a different day of the week. Electric charger by arrangement. Please contact me first.
We had a lovely weekend in Castleton. Sally is an excellent host who is accommodating, friendly and very helpful. The house is beautifully decorated, comfortable and cozy. We hope to visit again the future. Thank you!
The cottage was lovely, with beautiful decor and lovely bathrooms. It’s in a great location, with several good pubs, local shops and cafes, and many great walks starting right outside the door. There are also the caverns and the castle of outdoor pursuits are not possible. We had a lovely week!
Spacious 5 star accommodation in a courtyard area very close to pubs and small village shops (Spar shop in Hope is a 5 min drive away). Cottage is well equipped with everything we needed. Great chill out area in the living room, 2 large ensuite bedrooms, other large bedroom on the ground floor with lovely bathroom and well equipped kitchen/dining room. Sally is a very helpful host. Excellent location for walking and mountain biking. Would recommend 100% and look forward to returning here in the future.
Castleton is a year round destination in the Peak District National Park.
Within 5 minutes walk of the cottage are Cafes, restaurants, 6 pubs, a tourist information centre, and two village stores. There’s also an ancient Castle overlooking the village.
The amazing landscape which surrounds the village is accessible to all. You can walk for an hour on a footpath, or a full day on mixed terrain, to suit your ability. The Great Ridge of Mam Torr being my very favourite route. From the Ridge, you can access the Edale valley and Jacobs ladder, which is a popular hill walking and mountain biking route.
The Limestone way starts here, with a rocky walk behind Peveril Castle and beyond.
If you're not feeling energetic, then the historic Chatsworth House offers many attractions, as does Haddon Hall and the market town of Bakewell.
The festive season starts mid November, and the village is filled with Christmas trees, carol singers, and festive events in the Peak Cavern.
Other music events are held in ‘The Devils Arse’ cavern, where the acoustics are amazing.
Speedwell cavern can be explored by a boat underground, and the famous Blue John semi precious stone can be seen still on the walls of the Blue John cave.
Rick climbing is popular at Stanage Edge, as is trout fishing on Ladybower Reservoir. Other local activities include fell running, golf, caving and mountain biking, all taking in the amazing views of this beautiful national Park.
The whole village is flat walking so getting around is easy on foot. There are many trails surrounding the village which require sturdy footwear.
You can leave your car at the cottage and explore.

My hubby & I moved to Castleton 12yrs ago, after spending much of our leisure time cycling and walking around here. We now have Grandchildren who also love the outdoors. I became an Airbnb host 4yrs ago, and quickly became a super-host, I am very proud that all my reviews have been 5 star because I work hard to keep our lovely cottage in tip top condition and spotlessly clean. I enjoy fell running and have recently started paddleboarding.
