Welshpool · 整套乡村小屋 · 3室3床3.0卫 · 可住6人 · 3xdouble ensuite bedrooms fab to explore Mid Wales
Top House is a cosy cottage with modern touches in the rural village of Forden, 50m from The Cock Pub, 200m from Offas' Dyke footpath We offer up to 6 guests Self/Catering, there are 3 double bedrooms, all en suite with TV and free wifi. 2 rooms have Superking zip n link beds which can be split to offer twin beds instead, just let me know which you prefer. Downstairs is open plan. Kitchen, dining room and sitting room with log burner and TV. There are low ceilings and steps upstairs. Top House is ideal for friends to meet up, families are welcome but I am unable to cater for children under 6 years old, The wood burning stove is a favourite with guests on cold days and the small patio is ideal to sit and chat in the evenings when it is warmer. There is off street parking for 3 cars, 2 in the carport. The house is not really very pet or small child friendly, so sorry its easier not to allow them. You have exclusive use of the cottage. A locked internal door separates your part of the cottage from my bit, the utility/study, so I can do the laundry for the next guests or access my files I do not live on site but you are welcome to use the washing machine in this area, just ask or text me and we can arrange it. I use a separate entrance door to access this area.
This is a fantastic cottage and Jackie made us feel very welcome. It is very comfortable and well-equipped with, excellent WiFi and close to local amenities. Would highly recommend.
This is a lovely "home from home" cottage with everything you need for a comfortable stay (well-equipped kitchen, board games, magazine, lots of local info, hairdryers, matches and kindling, plenty of hangers etc.). It's bigger than it looks and having an ensuite for each bedroom is a real luxury. There was very little road noise although admittedly we had the windows closed most of the time. Jackie was very friendly and accommodating. The Indian restaurant over the road is currently being returned I think, but the Golden Fish Chinese in Church Stoke was excellent, as were the Sunday lunches at the Dragon at Montgomery. The pub at Berriew was nicely old-fashioned, and great chips. We'd definitely stay again.
I live nearby and can advise on places to visit and things to do Welshpool is 4 miles away and has Powis Castle, The Llanfair light railway, the Railway station, the canal, various supermarkets, pubs and restaurants. Montgomery is a traditional market town with a ruined castle on the hill with fabulous views. The area is packed with footpaths and lovely places to visit. The sea is 50 miles away and Snowdonia national park can be reached within 2 hours. Shrewsbury is 18 miles and Chester is 40 miles away.
There are buses which run daily to local towns, the bus stop is outside the pub. The railway station is in Welshpool. The cottage has a range of OS maps to borrow and you can always ask me.

Pre-Covid I did B&B, now self catering at Top House. I am outgoing, bubbly and cheerful, I live near to the cottage, so any problems or questions please just ask. My partner also farms , I have a flock of cross bred sheep and a growing number of Dutch Spotted sheep. I am a keen gardener, love the out-doors, have 2 dogs. My hope is that all my visitors will love the house and surrounding area and will want to return!
