We stayed in Bute Aran cottage as Coastal Baycroft cottage was already full when we tried to book initially, so John offered for us to stay in Bute Aran, on the same property. Bute Aran cottage is a beautiful wood cabin in spotless condition. The view of Bras d'Or lake was amazing, especially from the loft bedroom. Hot tub on the deck was amazing! We crossed the road to get to the lake but it was pretty quiet and my boys had no problem crossing on their own. While we were there, the municipality added more seawall rocks making it easier to get down to the lake, although you would need still need to be mobile; watersocks were helpful. The lake was pretty warm and beautifully clear. We were a very quick drive down the road (could probably walk) to Baddeck and all its restaurants, shops, and amenities, while still being in a very private, quiet and peaceful location. John was super helpful and friendly with local advice for day trips. Would definitely stay again.

Location is perfect for visiting the Cabot Trail/Highlands! Very private, beautiful view. House was a bit hard to find at night, but the host was very helpful in assisting us. The house is clean. Has a washer/dryer. Extra towels in the bathroom. The host had thoughfully left all screened windows open so the house was cool when we arrived. There are fans in each room which we did not need. Very comfortable temperature wise. The jacuzzi on the deck was enjoyable!

John was an excellent host and the cottage was great. The location was fabulous and everything was wonderful. It was well equipped and nice and bright. John welcomed us and looked after our needs in a timely fashion. I would highly recommend this place. Thank you John.
