Beautiful location, friendly host but terrible stay. Seriously overpriced - I have asked for a refund. The cottage was very smelly, freezing and dusty. It is 17 minutes drive from Bruges not 10km on a bike. The place clearly hasn’t been used for some time. It smelled strongly of something like diesel mixed with the dust of a very old rustic place that hasn’t been cleaned professionally. Glasses were dusty. Blankets smelled of dust. The mattress just needs to be replaced. It was grey with age or use. There were stains on the walls. The temperature was absolutely freezing. Colder than outside! As the whole cottage is heated by electricity you pay for (36 eur for two days in which we were out all the time!) it’s expensive to be warm. We ended up wearing our jackets and jumpers at all times in the house. All in all, a bad stay. Don’t go unless it’s mid summer, they hire a professional cleaner and the mattress has been changed. PS - lovely host and rural location.

Fijne Cottage op een mooi stukje land. Het tuintje achter is privé en je kan echt van de rust in het huisje genieten. Eigenaar heeft een kat die af en toe even hoi komt zeggen en zeer aardig is

Very nice house for summer, but not when its cold outside and you need warm and comfort inside. They use electricity to heat the house with some small radiators that consume a lot and don't heat too much. Once you stop them the house is cold again. Careful, the owners ask 50 cc per KWH which is double the market price and BELVILLA forgets to mention this when you are booking (you only see the price per KWH).
