this place is out in the country. very quiet and peaceful. if you are a city folk wanting a chance of country, this is a place to stay. there are lots of farm animals and you know they are there.

We greatly enjoyed our stay. Kids loved the firepit, stars, and especially the ducks and chickens out and about. Great stop to let kids stretch their legs while driving from south East TX to New Mexico.

What a gem! After visiting West Texas every year my whole (40 year) life to see family for Thanksgiving, I was amazed to find this wonderful listing in Paint Rock! We rented out the entire Cactus Motel property as well as the Bunk House next door for the "big" kids. We were a little worried about running over 10 people through the showers Thanksgiving morning, but the water never turned cold at all. The common area was large enough for us all to gather and share a meal together. The patio was perfect in the evenings. The little kiddos LOVED feeding scraps to all the ranch animals. The host, Leah, was always texting and making sure we were all good and taken care of! The only one VERY MINOR discrepancy in the listing is that one of the rooms had a full size mattress instead of a queen. We are looking forward to visiting Leah and booking this property every year going forward!

A great place to get away from the city lights and enjoy a quiet and peaceful night. The four rooms accommodated our group of 10, cat, and dog. With the firepit to sit by and grill, we enjoyed our stay catching up with friends and family before heading out. We definitely would return to Cactus Inn.
