Just back from a week long stay over Christmas at the beautiful Garden Cottage. This was everything we hoped it would be. A relaxing Christmas break in a traditional, spacious but cosy house. A social, relaxing and well equipped kitchen made cooking christmas dinner a breeze for my family. We sat for hours around the kitchen table, eating, drinking and playing cards together. We lit a fire every day in the sitting room next to the kitchen and also lit the log burner on Boxing Day. Both add to the charm and atmosphere of this gorgeous space. Our dogs adored it as well and it’s really reassuring that both the large grassy garden area as well as the smaller back garden are safe and enclosed. Diane and Thomas had also decorated the cottage for us for Christmas. There were beautiful fresh roses and holly dotted around as well as thoughtful goodies to welcome us on arrival.

We (2 couples) spent a week at Diane and Thomas’s amazing property. The house, garden and large natural walled grounds with lake , orchard and wildlife were very special. So relaxing and peaceful to unwind after the days walking exploring and cycling in the surrounding area where there is so much to see. Including gardens, Castles and the coast. We were very lucky with the weather as there was a heatwave so were able to take advantage of eating outside in the garden as we cooked most evenings and the kitchen was well equipped and large. Useful utility area too. Plenty of space for two couple and large bedrooms. It was lovely to meet Diane and Thomas and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you both for your hospitality.

We had a lovely family stay at Diane’s cottage. The garden and grounds were just amazing and perfect for kids to run around and burn off energy. Inside there was lovely touches like children’s toys too. We felt at home and we could really relax. The cottage is isolated which was just perfect for us & what we wanted, but only a short car trip to lots of national trust and other sightseeing places if wanted.

We had a fantastic week at Garden Cottage in August. The cottage is very large and well equipped in a great location. There are plenty of walks direct from the cottage or a short drive away. There is also a good selection of restaurants, take-aways, supermarkets nearby. Diane and Thomas were great hosts. I would definitely recommend.

What a place! Beautiful inside and out, even better than the pictures show. We stayed with our 2 children (14 & 12), and Labrador and it honestly felt like a home from home. Spacious enough to have our own nooks, but also come together for dinner and film nights. The cottage (its much bigger than any cottage I've been in before!) was surrounded 360 degrees by greenery and endless nature - perfect for a restful break. The 'secret garden' (as we named it!) was lovely. Diane and Thomas were very welcoming and the extra touches like freshly picked flowers and homemade Bara Birth just went to show how much they cared about us and our stay. Plenty of fresh towels (even for the dog!), comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen made our stay easy and homely. Despite feeling incredibly secluded the cottage was well placed within less than 30 mins drive of lots of places (castles, National Trust, beaches, large supermarket and towns). I would highly recommend and we'd love to come back!
