For a cheap price, this room is a great value. More suited for a long term stay in my opinion. I felt safe the entire time and it served as a great room for the summer.

I could not rate it a full 5 stars for one thing only. I was not expecting to have to provide for myself what I assumed would basic amenities. I was informed my first night there by one of the permanent residents that I would need to get my own dish soap and towel to dry my dishes (they each had their own), I had to buy my own hand soap, hand towel, and toilet paper for the bathroom, I had to buy butter knives because there were none available, and I had to buy a lightbulb for the lamp in my room because there was not one already in it. It was just an odd situation. The room however suited my needs fully (after I brought my TV from home) and the common spaces were clean. I only needed a place to sleep, study, and shower and I am glad to have found one for such a great value.

TLDR: I didn't get the advertised room, and the room I got didn't meet my needs. I basically got scammed. I booked for 20 weeks, which made this scam much worse for me. It's not like I was only going to be there for a couple of days and didn't really mind a smaller room. The advertised room was already occupied, and the host didn't tell me at all before check-in. He offered a discount after I complained, but the room I got didn't meet my needs. Regardless, if the advertised room wasn't available, he should've notified the guest as soon as possible, and not just wait till check-in to hope that I wouldn't notice or I would accept a discount as a compromise. Then he tried to offer me other compromises, like switching me to the advertised room after a day or two if the current occupant agrees, or a room in a different house (which was not yet ready), or the master bedroom in the same house after two months. But I didn't have time for all that uncertainty. I needed to get settled that day. This scammy behavior is unacceptable. All he had to do was notify me before check-in that the advertised room was not available and I would have been fine with finding something else. Fortunately for me, Airbnb was able to facilitate a full refund for me, but I still had to scramble to find another place that meets my needs.
