Booked into the Apple house for New Year. Prior to leaving I sent a message. We received a reply to say that there was an issue with the Apple house and they were moving us to the Rose cottage which was bigger and better equipped. At this news we got excited as we thought we were getting an upgrade. On arrival it was dark and Morgan met us at the cottage on a quad bike. After a very perfunctory greeting and rushing through the security code he sped off again. Unfortunately Rose Cottage was far from an 'upgrade' and more closely resembled student digs. Rips on the stairs carpet, fake tan stains on the sheets, black mould on the windows and side of the fridge, what resembled pet hair on the bed, dirty marks on the walls, dust and cobwebs. 3 big flies and a wasp appeared when we turned the lights on which suggests it had been empty for a while. Kitchen very poorly equipped. No superhost touches. Had to contact air bnb to get a refund and on seeing my photos I was refunded immediately.

Exceptionally gorgeous surrounding: it's like being in the middle of nature, and yet it's very close to main roads. Hosts are warm and accomodating. The cottage is very charming, though it might not be ideal for families with very small children as the two bedrooms have separate entrances from the outside. For us (family with two adult daughters) it was wonderful. Lovely place!

Beautiful and unique stay. We had access to walk the grounds and enjoy the beauty and quite. There are several eateries and more to explore with a short drive.
