Grange is a lovely quiet location. Property exactly as described and as per photos. There is walking straight from the gate with Catbells, High Spy, High Seat all achievable without a car/bus trip. Buses stop at Grange just at the end of the bridge. Fearsomely steep stairs to 1st floor, so not suitable for small children or elderly people with mobility issues. All bathrooms on 1st floor. Very welcoming host and representatives. Greeted when we arrived, excellent communications. Well kitted out kitchen, full height fridge/freezer split 50/50. Would definitely return to property again. Christine & Joe, the owners who live next door were delightful. Friendly and helpful. Change of towels midway through our stay was appreciated. A spacious house. Bedding beautifully clean and the house had been vacuumed . Stunning environment, beside the river, loved the birds on the feeders. We had a lovely peaceful holiday. Only one bedroom and one couch in the lounge had the gorgeous views. The only shower is ensuite to the main bedroom, so not very convenient for 4 adults. No shower adapter in the bath. I’m sure that it’s not possible to fully clean such a large historic house (as well as change beds) in the time available between guests, (6hrs) unless there were 2-3 people working flat out. It was therefore very dusty & lots of cobwebs. We had to clean the freezer drawers before putting food in, as well as the cutlery drawer & food cupboard. There were what looked like Rice Krispies on the bedside table in the blue room and dark dust on all bedroom furniture.

I loved this house. Its quaint, really quirky. We swam most days in river and paddleboarded too, straight from garden which was a joy. The lounge is cosy, WiFi great throughout. I wouldnt be comfortable here with toddlers without strict supervision around river. Also, whilst I love the stairs, they are not good for anyone who struggles with stairs due to how steep they are. My own - and possibly personal - thing was I wasn't keen on the amount of nick nacks - old flower arrangements and the like - knocking around. My dust allergies were up, must be harder to clean around too? Other than that, this house is wonderful in a beautiful spot.

The surroundings are absolutely beautiful at Peters place. Direct access in to the river and lots of great walks on your doorstop. We had a wonderful time!
