Eged Teglværksgården is a private and quiet, historic property in the beautiful Danish countryside sitting amidst rustic farmland. Highlights include: 10 min. to a fantastic bathing beach, ancient oak forests with stone age and bronze age monuments, 2 min. to the village, 20 min. to the town of Nykøbing F and shopping, 1.5 hours to Copenhagen, bus stop nearby. HI SPEED INTERNET Eged Teglværksgården is a historic farm that produced grain and pigs up until 1996. There was a brick and tile factory here from 1880-1932 and a local railroad from 1905- 1965. It is now retired and is run as a bed and breakfast/camping area and private residence. We use environmentally friendly products for cleaning, use no spray or artificial fertilizers around the house/garden/field. Hunting is not allowed and the property is managed to preserve the diversity and wildlife unique to this area. We produce berries, plums, apples and pears as well as nuts and vegetables. Wildlife in the area you are likely to see include: roedeer, long-eared bats, common toads, green tree frogs, fox, hare, swans, geese, white-tailed eagles, ducks, kestrels, buzzards, hawks, lizards and salamanders. The creek by the house runs into a shallow lake that has perch, shad, pike and eel (historically). There is a fish survey being conducted in the stream by the local government in order to restore fish populations. The farm is part of a trail system leading to Horreby Heath just behind the farm which is a rare ecosystem and wildlife preserve. We use water saving devices and reduce waste by recycling and sorting. All wastewater is filtered by our private treatment system and the house is heated in the winter with renewable energy (wood and pellets). Please note: This is a house in the countryside. Although it is close to nature, we are not right next to any large restaurants, supermarkets or entertainment. We are also not right next to the highway.
