A perfect Mansion 10-15 minutes from everywhere! My family and I had a wonderful stay just north of Forest Park in this stunning home. Staying at this property was staying in a piece of St. Louis history. I would definitely stay here again. The owner of the house helped me under very short notice after another property fell through 2 days before my wife and I had family coming in from multiple parts of the country for a mini-reunion. I cannot thank Michele and their staff enough!!! They truly helped us make a family memory. All of the guests in our group were adults; if you have little kiddos this probably not the place for you. There are many pieces of art that would be in the range of small hands. Other than that I cannot recommend this property highly enough.

I look forward to my stay in this beautiful historic and modern home. Its in a beautiful neighbourhood and great location. I look forward to enjoying my time in this home as much as the area. Its comfortable, full of beautiful amenities and world collectibles. I feel like It is my home away from home in St Louis 🥰

Nice home, horrible service and combative communication. This will mark my first negative review of any kind on any platform. I held off for several weeks in an effort to allow the owner to rectify the situation and instead he elected to try to intimidate us and essentially calling us liars. Before covering the main problem we experienced I’d like to provide a heads up to anyone considering renting this home: 1) if you have kids or are at all religious or do not enjoy seeing dozens of photos of the owners in full nude provocative poses…you may want to look elsewhere. My party consisted of 3 professional men in our 50s on a work assignment. As a photographer myself I could appreciate the technical aspects (lighting, creative use of sand, etc) but one of our party happens to be a deacon in his church and definitely felt very uncomfortable. The adult sex swing and whips in open view near the laundry room downstairs was certainly a new one on all of us. There was no warning or aspect in the property description that would give anyone a hint so…consider this a hint. 2) All 3 of us experienced unexplainable events while alone in rooms of the home. Thankfully the events did not seem to indicate a hostile situation but if anyone in your party is easily spooked…you may want to look elsewhere. 3) if you like to cook, you may find the selection of pans (and especially oven suitable pans) lacking. While quaint, having to get on your knees with a flashlight to ignite the gas oven each time you use it may not be what everyone expects. It took the person who checked us in about 20 minutes to figure out how to light it so be aware. Of course none of this was in the description of the property. 4) Although the home has wi-fi, the signal is horrible in most rooms other than the upstairs office. It should be noted that there were several other routers operating with good signal but guests are not provided with the passwords to these additional resources…again not communicated or handled well. While the above issues were real and caused a varying level of concern and wasted time/energy, the most egregious started as a seemingly benign request. My party was in town on a work assignment with fairly long hours. So after we would return from different parts of the city in the early evening, we need to both compare notes (to prepare for the next day) and unwind a bit, typically while watching a ball game or movie. We saw in the airBNB ad for the home that the home offered television and could see in photos a super room with a large tv and couches…a perfect spot for our needs. On our first evening we could not find any remotes for the 2 TVs in the home. We texted the person who the owner had check us in and he did not seem particularly interested in helping. He simply said “they should be there, keep looking”. We did and they weren’t so we gave up and headed to bed early. When I texted him again the next day he said “a previous guest must have taken them”. Even though I wondered why someone would take two remotes, I didn’t push on it and instead asked him what we should do. He suggested we look in an orange vase in the office (which he hadn’t mentioned before) and sure enough we found a remote for the small tv in the office….which would not work. So I texted again to explain and ask for help and he replied that he would need to order new remotes and they wouldn’t arrive until we were gone. Sensing a clear lack of interest in helping us, I asked if perhaps he could get a universal remote (there is a Best Buy a few miles away). To this request he replied that he sorry but he had an early plane to Mexico the next morning…basically not his problem or concern. Throughout this somewhat annoying exchange spanning several days I had opted to avoid bothering the owner. Surely the caretaker could handle this, right? After messaging the owner we did hear back from the caretaker who paused his packing for Mexico to say he would send his son over the next day with batteries (for the small tv remote). The next day I texted him to ask when to expect his son and he indicated around 4 so two of us left our work assignments to make sure someone was there by 3 just in case he was early. We sat in the downstairs living room which opens to the foyer front door entrance. I texted to let him know we would be there and he replied that his son would arrive in 45 minutes. About 90 minutes later I texted to ask what the ETA was and he replied that his son had already come to the house. He claimed that the son knocked repeatedly on the front door for 15 minutes but no one answered. I do not lightly accuse others of lying but there is no way someone could knock on the door we were sitting a few steps away from without us hearing. The foyer is huge and any knocking literally echoes a bit. Getting past this point, if a caretaker came to the home for repairs and no one was home why would they not use their keys to enter and perform the task? When I texted back to explain that we were a few feet from the door and never heard a knock (I was careful not to imply we felt we were being lied to) and could he back, the answer was simply “he had to go to work, sorry”.
