it served the purpose of pretty cheap stay near Seattle while on a long road trip, visiting national parks and working remotely. I'm pretty chill with everything and Seattle/area was spectacular in sept-oct. The good: Cheap, location, good response/communication - It was very easy to get to places with easy access to highway. I looked for stay a little last minute (only about 4 weeks before my stay) and my options were limited for a month stay. This place was definitely rated pretty cheap compared to others around the location (under 1k a month). Host responded well and quickly despite English not being her first language. Her son that lives upstairs immediately ordered when I told him that toilet lacks toilet bowl brush to clean. I was able to work remotely with no issue (other than a couple times internet got turned off when the power strip protector where router is connected went off in the garage-kitchen: which happens when the microwave and electric kettle connected to it is used at the same time). The Okay: the room and the private bathroom it came with was pretty alright. I'm glad I didn't have to use the other bathroom shared by 3 other tenants. I've gone in there once to check it out and I would have found another place to live immediately if I had to use that (it's not that other tenants use it badly, its just an old bathroom in a half basement.. I'm not sure how I can describe it). Luckily this one I stayed at comes with an updated bathroom as seen in the pictures (door to the bathroom is on the left after you enter the door to the room, before the rest of the room). The bed was alright, perhaps a little too low on the ground without a box spring. And I travel with my own pillow. The not so good: the entrance to the house to get to the room is through the door into the garage converted to kitchen/laundry area. Having to open the key lockbox every day to get the key to open that entrance door is a little cumbersome (hopefully they will invest in a key combination door lock eventually). Then you enter the garage that is converted to kitchen/laundry/dining area. The floor is dark concrete (no expert on materials so I assume it is concrete that's not smooth so it would trap dirt and such) that gets mopped perhaps once a week or two (only saw it got mopped once in my stay but I 'm gone most weekends). There's always a little puddle in front of the fridge (I'm guessing slight water leak or something). The floor on the gap between stove/oven and the countertop is filthy. If this was a restaurant it would be forced to close. When I use the stove with flipflop/short I always felt like some little bugs were dancing at my feet. The pathway from the kitchen to the room (where there are doors to 3 other rooms and the shared bathroom) has that old mall smell (sometime mixed with whatever cooked in the kitchen). There is a short steep uphill to drive up to the house from the main road, and parking is a bit of a challenge that requires some maneuver. I strongly advise against arriving after dark for the first night. The host does not live here and I saw them about 2-3 times in my 5 week stay when they came over to clean. I greeted and talked with them briefly (not fluent in English - but no problem communicating via messages). I certainly enjoyed my time in Seattle but if/when I come to visit Seattle area again I probably won't be coming back to this one.

The house is in a very good location, about 10-15 mins drive from downtown Seattle, and very close to downtown Bellevue. The room is secluded and quiet, and has a private bathroom and shower. The room is spacious. The kitchen is in the garage, it has a microwave, stove, fridge, there are also a washer and dryer in the garage. The host was very responsive and helpful.
