The house is located in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in the Historical Center of Mérida and is just 20 minutes' walk from the downtown. The house preserves its old style with thick walls and high ceilings, combining modern features that make it comfortable, fresh and cozy. We warmly welcome the 2SLGBTQ+ community Preserving its old style with thick walls and high ceilings, La Casa del Jaguar has the 3 bedrooms with air conditioning, 2 comfortable queen beds and a single bed, a living room with a 65” Smart T.V, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, 2 and a half bathroom, a large patio with outdoor shower, a large xucum pool and much more. You can park your car in the front of the house.

Natural fiber sheets would be much more comfortable.) Typical Merida water pressure. Need to be extra diligent about keeping food picked up to avoid ants. Overall, an excellent property we would both recommend and stay in again.

We had a great four night stay here! There was tons of space, even more than it appeared from the photos. The pool and patio was great, and the bedrooms were large and comfortable. The AC in both bedrooms was plenty to keep us cool. We sometimes walked to dinner or to Plaza Grande and sometimes used Uber, so the location is walkable depending on your preference. The street was very quiet and in a great neighborhood. We enjoyed our time at Erick's!
Chose this house if you want a unique Meridian experience. It is absolutely beautiful, spacious, quiet, safe and comes with a fantastic private sunny pool. We absolutely loved everything about this house. It is in a safe area of Merida and you can easily walk in 15-20min to the city centre (or faster if without kids). We spent wonderful 4 days here and did daily trips to discover Merida and its surroundings, returning mid-day or late afternoon to cool down in the pool. Fantastic! Cannot recommend the house and the communication with Erick (or Marita) highly enough. Would definitely book again!
Me and my family of 6 (4 adults and 2 kids) stayed at La Casa Jaguar for a month, so there was plenty of time to see everything around the house and discover neighbourhood. Actually, it was amazing. The place itself is huge, very clean (with weekly cleaning and pool maintenance service), pool is warm. We spend whole month cooking, working and having casual lifestyle, so main pros for me: - kitchen is fully equipped with high quality pans and sharp knifes (as a person, who stays at airbnb frequently, I should say, it is VERY rare), convenient to cook; - many places to get takeout or fresh vegetables around (Santiago market is 7 minutes walk); - good internet quality, reliable connection; - comfortable bed and nice, soft sheets; - laundry and dryer in the patio, so no need to visit levanderia with full bags of clothes. Host is friendly and responsive, solved minor problems quickly and flawlessly. I think it was the best airbnb I stayed and couldn't recommend it more.

The Barrio de Santiago is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city since it was organized as such from the founding of the city in 1542 and served to concentrate and house the indigenous Mayan population found by the Spanish living in what were the ruins of the old Mayan city of T'Hó, during the process of conquest of Yucatan led by Francisco de Montejo.
Currently in the recovery process after the covid pandemic, the Santiago neighborhood is once again the perfect place to walk, explore, and get lost in its streets.
The neighborhood has its own central square. In front of the church, there is a market that sells fruits and vegetables, meats, and a large selection of flowers. There is also a variety of gastronomic venues, shops, and even a cinema!
A great attraction is a playground. It has a beautiful water fountain surrounded by trees that provide shade and a large concrete area that is used on several occasions for skateboarding and as a dance floor because on Tuesday nights, the Santiago Mérida park is transformed to the rhythm of live music.
Musical Remembrances are a classic on Tuesday nights in the Barrio de Santiago. Its origins date back more than four decades and it is a public event much loved by residents and a tourist attraction for many foreigners.
The musical date begins at 8:30 pm and brings together people of different ages who dance for several hours to the rhythm of cha-cha, mambo, salsa, and other Latin dances.
The architectural heritage is another stronghold of the Santiago Mérida neighborhood. Old houses and mansions, French colonial buildings on Calle 59 are the ideal settings for photography.
The house does not have a parking lot, but vehicles can be parked at the edge of the sidewalk.
The Barrio de Santiago is very traditional to be able to have a more exact location of where we are located you have to look at the numbering of the streets that from north to south the numbers are in NONES and go up and from west to east that the numbers are in PAIRS they go down
The Barrio de Santiago has its own central square, cinema, little market, church, and every weekend it has different cultural activities.
From the Barrio de Santiago, you can move to any point in the city.
Within walking distance are hospitals, shopping centers, supermarkets, etc.
