Our stay at this tranquil retreat near the hot springs area was nothing short of magical. Nestled away from the hustle and bustle of town, we found ourselves immersed in the soothing sounds of nature – birds chirping, leaves rustling, and distant animal calls.The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the breathtaking view of the nearby volcano. Each morning, we were greeted by its majestic presence, and at night, we were treated to a spectacle of stars overhead.The house itself was cozy and well-equipped, providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The large pool was a welcome respite from the warm days, offering a refreshing dip with unparalleled views. Our hosts were incredibly accommodating, offering local tips and ensuring our stay was nothing short of perfect. We left feeling rejuvenated and already planning our return trip to this hidden gem.

My family’s stay at the Firefly in El Castillo was delightful. From check-in with our friendly host who accommodated our late arrival to our early departure, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this quaint little town near Arenal volcano. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance and we especially enjoyed the panaderia down the hill. Next to the panaderia (about 0.6 mi from the house), there is a small convenience store where you can find some essentials. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to get here before dark, because the roads leading to El Castillo are winding and bumpy — definitely take some motion sickness medication if you are prone to getting car sick!

House was perfect for our family retreat. Located up the hill it offered amazing private views of Arenal Lake and surrounding areas. Restaurants were within 800m with epic views and local cuisine that was top notch. Pool was beautiful, and well maintained. Management team showed us to the property and made sure we were settled. Overall amazing experience!
