Villa Maria-Syros, is a listed neoclassical mansion, full of old world charm in the heart of the historical town. Within short walking distance from art galleries, museums, cafes and restaurants, a food market, the town's loveliest spot for swimming and the port. The roof terrace have panoramic views over the town, the port and across to the neighbouring islands. Behind the villa is a courtyard with plants, built-in seating and a shaded dining area. Antique furniture, comfortable beds, a shaded courtyard, high speed wi-fi and in a peaceful neighbourhood. Ideal for couples and .perfect for travellers without private transport. Villa Maria is a listed 19th century neo-classical mansion. Built by a local factory owner in 1873 at the height of Ermoupolis’ prosperity, it is a fine example of the architecture of the period. In restoring it we have preserved all the original features —wooden floors and ceilings, marble bathrooms, decorative mouldings— and used antique furniture to give it a comfortable but authentic feel.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful property and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way! The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, always going out of their way to ensure guests have a pleasant stay. The rooms are immaculately clean and decorated with exceptional taste, offering a perfect blend of comfort and style. The location is also fantastic, making it easy to explore the surrounding (beautiful) area and enjoy local attractions. I highly recommend the cooking session with Elisa and breakfast at the roof terrace!
Villa Maria was truly a dream! The most beautiful decor and immaculate hospitality by Kostas. He goes as far to carry your bags in for you and have cold water ready for your arrival. The location of the place is amazing, close to all the main restaurants & shops but far enough away that it isn’t loud. The biggest win was the view from yhe outdoor space. Very clean & well kept. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely recommend this location to friends & family! Thank you Kostas!
Ένα πανέμορφο αρχοντικό με πολύ προσεγμένη αισθητική, μόλις πέντε λεπτά από το κέντρο της Ερμούπολης. Κάθε δωμάτιο διαφορετικό και με χαρακτήρα. Όλοι οι χώροι πεντακάθαροι. Η κουζίνα ονειρική, εξοπλισμένη με ό,τι μπορεί να χρειαστεί κανείς. Η Ελίζα και ο Κώστας πάντα με χαμόγελο, ζεστοί και φιλόξενοι, πρόθυμοι να βοηθησουν με το οτιδήποτε. Ιδανική επιλογή που με χαρά θα ξανακάναμε. Η διαμονή μας ήταν υπέροχη!
Super kind host！ Help me carry my luggage all the way to the hotel. Enthusiastically introduce restaurants and attractions to me. The room was clean and the decoration was lovely. You can also see the panoramic view of Syros and the sea from the roof.
We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful, authentic home. The location was perfect - very close to the restaurants, beach, buses/transport, and anything else you could need! Kostas was amazing in helping us with check in and recommending local attractions. His love for Syros definitely transferred to us. We look forward to returning when we can!

The house couldn't be more ideally located. In the heart of the historical town, it is within short walking distance from everything. Two minutes uphill walk from the main town square around which are all the best cafes and restaurants, a lively local market with fresh produce, stylish little shops and art galleries. The main port is a 5 minute walk. The famous Apollo theater where several musical and theatrical events take place, as well as an international opera festival, is a 3 minute walk. Also within a very short walk there is a lovely spot for swimming in Vaporia neighborhood, the little Venice of Syros. Crystal clear waters by a nice all day cafe-restaurant with magnificent views of the historical waterfront buildings. A unique experience!
The house's location is surprisingly peaceful and quiet, set back from a little cobblestone pedestrian street. The whole area is pedestrian, so perfectly quiet and safe for children. To reach the house you need to go up two flights of steps (70-80 steps) from the closest road accessible by car.
There is a longer 15 minutes walk from the main square if you want to skip the stairs.
