Hot Take: The storm shutters are amazing, retract right into the roof, no storing panels, truly remarkable. I spent a lot of time just admiring them from the pool. Detailed Review: I think it’s important you know two things, one, after a lot of years of hard work this is our family of four’s second ever vacation and, two, our goals were to seclude ourselves and relax exclusively. Knowing that this place fit the bill to a “T!” It’s a brand new home, everything was in great shape and exactly as advertised. The home was clean, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was very well stocked (which was not mentioned in the add and had us worried as we love to cook), we brought towels assuming there would only be a few and were surprised by so many we never had to re-use a wet one once. The pool was heated and absolutely glorious. The dogs got more exercise in the gigantic fenced backyard than they have in a long time and loved every minute of it. Honestly, after day two we all felt more relaxed than we had in years. Cheaper than a motel, more luxurious than a hotel, we couldn’t have asked for more. Highly recommend for a relaxing, secluded get away. We got all our food from the store less than a mile away, went out to a restaurant once for a special occasion and other than that never felt the need to get out. Lots of room for everyone to spread out and relax in their own way. Thanks again for everything, we really had a wonderful time.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH THE HOST (Marie)!!! At 9am on one of my days here, I received a voicemail from Marie stating that workers would be showing up to install storm shutters and that they would also be coming inside the home to do part of the work. I did not get this voicemail until the evening as I was at work and am not able to use my phone at that time. When I got home, I saw evidence that a lot of work had been done (construction materials everywhere, tools left behind, motorized automatic storm shutters were installed on the exterior windows that face the pool area and dining room/sliding doors/living room, I could see they had to drill and cut into the concrete and part of the roof to do it i.e. looked like it had been noisy work in the lanai area all day). I NEVER gave my permission for this and was never given warning of this prior to my stay/prior to that 9am same-day voicemail. My pets and all of my belongings were inside the home. If I happened to be at the home that day, my day would have been horrible... I would have had to listen to loud drilling into the side of the home, would have had male workers walking around the back of the house (mostly glass sliding doors and windows along the back half of the home where the lanai and pool is) and would not have felt comfortable or relaxed being in the lanai or living room/kitchen. I filed a security complaint that evening with Airbnb. The next morning, at 8am, I was woken up by a doorbell ring that I did not answer. I then see a male worker right outside the master bedroom window installing another storm shutter - extremely loud drilling which also vibrates the walls/house. I then get a text from Marie at 8:30am telling me that the workers will be showing up again today and that they also need to come inside again to finish up. RIDICULOUS. I spend the following 2 hours arguing back and forth with her about how this violates my privacy and is unacceptable. I asked for a refund for my stay here as I would never have booked this home in the first place if I knew this was going to occur; she mentioned thinking about "fair compensation" but did not agree to anything. She then made up some lies and tried to tell me that she emailed me the day prior (did not happen) and said that the contract for the booking states that "maintenance" is allowed during guest stays. Maintenance?! This clearly was an UPGRADE PROJECT that had to be scheduled well in advance. I told her that. She then tried to guilt trip me saying that it's so hard these days to schedule labor appointments with workers and so when you get one it's just so hard to turn it away. NOT MY PROBLEM. She could have made sure the home was empty (without guests) for these 2 days that work needed to be done. She also could have told me more than a day prior this was going to occur (clearly she knew this was going to happen long before told me i.e. minutes before they show up the same day) so that I could have checked out of this house and found another place to stay! The fact that she thought this was remotely acceptable to do to a paying guest is absolutely beyond me.

My husband and I spent a week at the Magnolia house. Two of our adult children joined us for a couple of days. The house is new and very clean. Had everything we needed. Marie is very nice. This was our first time staying in an air bnb. We have no complaints. I would definitely stay there again.

Average Air BNB in the Cape. Furniture outside was nice, comfortable king bed.
