A great place to stay love the dock and the house in general we all loved it, was a beautiful place

We loved Kayaker’s Retreat overall. The house was clean and we enjoyed the deck and dock quite a bit. We played ping pong in the garage and my husband kayaked around Governor’s Creek. When we were short on wash cloths, Frederic showed up soon after we contacted him with plenty of new sets which was great A few things to mention if you choose Kayaker’s Retreat. There is an Amtrak and CSX line very close to the house, just on the other side of the side yard fence. This came as a surprise to us but luckily my husband loves trains so he was somewhat excited about the high speed railway being so close. The train schedules varied a bit each of the four days we stayed in the house. Be prepared for a possible 3:45am and 4:30am train as well as 6am and several others during the day and evening. The house shakes a bit and the windows rattle as the train goes by for between 30 seconds to a few minutes. Make sure the AC is on upon arrival as house was noticibly musty on Day 1.

Frederic was a great host. Would stay again when in the area. Loved the dock and watching the wildlife.

We loved staying at this beautiful home. We loved sitting at the dock and fishing, as well as kayaking. We even saw a baby alligator. My boys loved watching the trains go by as well. We loved being on the river. The house felt almost private being on the end of the cul-de-sac. It had a lot of big space to relax and the bedrooms were very clean. We were surprised to see there was a ping pong table and darts in the garage so my boys got a lot of playing time. The only thing to note is to bring your own garbage bags. There was only 1 in the trash can so please be aware so you don’t have to make another stop at the store to get more. Halfway between Jacksonville and St. Augustine we did day trips to both cities. So it was great being able to experience a lot of different things. This house didn’t disappoint. Located in a beautiful community it was definitely a great trip we would happily to do it again.

The house was pristine and welcoming. The beds were very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and look forward to coming back again.
