Adults and children alike will enjoy "Knot in Kansas", a private cottage with a sprawling yard and minutes from the beach. Zip through the quaint towns of 30A by bicycle before indulging your taste buds at the many award-winning restaurants that dot the landscape. Steps away, enjoy Camp Helen State Park, affording access to the Gulf of Mexico and Lake Powell, one of the largest coastal dune lakes in FL. Wildlife viewing is popular with a diverse habitat including rare shorebirds and bald eagles. "Knot in Kansas" Cottage is a hidden gem, located on a quiet, secluded dead end street, affording plenty of privacy, yet still close to the beach, Camp Helen State Park and all the action on 30A. You will be a 6-minute walk to the Inlet Beach public beach access where you can experience saltwater activities on the Gulf and freshwater activities on Lake Powell (when crossing the boardwalk over the dunes there are several sets of stairs). If you prefer to avoid stairs you can easily walk to another Inlet Beach beach access close to the home within 8 minutes. As you cruise the area you’ll see beach cottages mixed with modern homes in this old-meets-new beach neighborhood. This home is a charming 3 bedroom (one king bed, one queen bed, one twin over full bunkbed), 1 bath (with a large zero-entry shower), single story cottage nestled on Park Place Avenue East on the south side of Inlet Beach. Affording ample space for guests to roam, this lovely vacation rental also features smart televisions in the living area, all bedrooms and the outddor screened porch, free Wi-Fi, full size washer and dryer and central HVAC. The kitchen is well appointed with stainless steel appliances and everything needed to whip up a quick snack or meal (including a pot filler over the stove). There is both a Keurig pod coffee maker and a 4-cup drip coffee maker to suit any kind of coffee lover. The screened porch houses a plush seating group, a table for four for alfresco dining and a gas fireplace to cozy up on a brisk night. Off the screened porch is a large open-air deck with an outdoor shower that has both hot and cold running water. Here, you’ll also find the propane gas grill for barbecues with family and friends. The large grassy yard that surrounds the home is perfect for playing outdoor games. There is even a basketball net for those that enjoy a game of hoops. Two adult cruiser bikes are available for guest use. This home does not have pool access. You can’t beat the proximity to numerous local shopping and dining options at 30 Avenues (1.1 miles), Rosemary Beach (1.3 miles), Seacrest (1.4 miles) and Alys Beaches (2 miles)! Camp Helen State Park, a favorite of locals and guests (0.8 mile from the home), is bordered on 3 sides by the Gulf of Mexico and Lake Powell, one of the largest coastal dune lakes in Florida. Coastal dune lakes are very rare worldwide — in the US they occur only along the Gulf Coast. Wildlife viewing is extremely popular, as the different water bodies have created a diverse habitat for wildlife that includes rare shorebirds and Bald Eagles. Camp Helen is a great fishing spot for both fresh and saltwater species (a FL fishing license is required). The park also provides numerous nature trails for hiking. Visit the lodge and relax in the rocking chairs overlooking Lake Powell, or head to the beach for swimming, beachcombing, tanning or boating. There is a $4 entrance fee per vehicle, $2 per pedestrian, collected using the honor system. The camp is open from 8am to sundown. You cannot go wrong with this house — its comfort, amenities, and location are second to none. Book your stay at “Knot in Kansas” cottage and watch your worries melt away. We stayed at a few places while in Florida, I definitely would look to see if her place was available before any other place. I had the best sleep I’ve had in years. So relaxing!
This is an attractive, well-constructed and designed cottage that's only a few years old. It has woods on 3 sides and is quite private. There are beautiful views from every window, and the home features tasteful and colorful art throughout. There is some noise from highway 98, but it's not intrusive. Some lot clearing was going on across the street, but we never noticed it unless we were on the front porch. The home is not large but makes ingenious use of the space; for example, the very well-equipped kitchen and living area are compact but well-planned. And the wonderful screened porch with fireplace adds a large outdoor room that more than makes up for any lack of space inside. There's a nice front porch and a large deck to boot. The beds are all comfortable, and the bathroom and shower are topnotch. The host included many nice touches, including programming the entry code in a way that made it easy to remember - a most welcome benefit after a long day of travel. Great place!

Great place for spring break!
The home was secluded from the neighborhood and across from some new home construction but other than that, this is truly a hidden gem. The place has everything you need and more for a family vacation in the 30A. Well stocked with plenty of fresh linens and cookware items. It’s a smaller home but perfect for a small family. We spent every evening on the porch with the fireplace - very nice touch! The host was very clear with instructions, responsive, and clearly put a lot of thought and pride into this space.

No matter where you start your exploration, cool, casual and comfortable are the cornerstones of this easternmost South Walton neighborhood.
The home affords ample parking for 3 vehicles in the gravel parking area at the front of the home. Once you park your car one of the best ways to experience Inlet Beach and nearby 30A is by bicycling. There are over 200 hiking and biking trails in the area, winding through state parks and forests, passing dune lakes and preserves.
