Find us on IG to see more @cabin on the brook The cabin is a hidden gem; located almost halfway down an 8 mile dirt road with Mountain Views, but only a 10 minutes from a state road, the Connecticut river, 15 minutes away from Lancaster, New Hampshire, with gas stations, a grocery store, restaurants, coffee shops, a bakery, medical center, mechanics, and more. Less than 30 minutes from Maidstone State Park, Weeks State park, Victory State Forest, Whitefield and Santa’s Village!! See my guidebook for more suggestions of attractions nearby. We offer 3 fire pits, 2 that are safe to use on the deck, 1 that can also be used as a grill, and the other by the brook. Guests have also enjoyed fishing small trout at the brook. Just bring your own fishing rod. 2 Pop-up tents available for camping in the backyard as well. Each bed has a bed bug encasement and double waterproof mattress pads for your comfort. Bed pillows also have a protector underneath the sham/case. There’s 3 smart TVs, each with a DVD player. There’s free WiFi through our Starlink. We also have a collection of DVD movies for your stay. We do spray the place for pests, and we also use ultrasonic pest machines throughout the house. But please keep in mind that this is a cabin located in the woods. SEASONS: We’re on a dirt road that gets maintained year-round, but after rainy weather, there may be pot holes and mud. Please drive slowly. Once it starts snowing and raining, an ice sheet may form on the driveway. Despite pouring salt, there may still be slippery spots. Please walk carefully. We provide ice cleats in mudroom for lending. Once heavy snow starts to set, the driveway will be plowed. Please park off to the side. There is direct VAST access from the cape once trails are open for snowmobiling. Please check current trail updates. Due to the natural elements surrounding the cabin and the location, you might see a variety of insects, rodents and wildlife year round. Including moose and black bears. The cabin offers a unique experience that truly defines a mountain/forest getaway.
This is an awesome getaway! The space is perfect for those nature lovers who love to spend time relaxing outdoors. Plenty of chairs, fire pits, great swing bench and plenty of space to explore. The solar lights give a super cute vibe at night, and you can’t beat a Brook flowing through the yard! The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed. I’ll definitely be keeping this in mind for another visit!
This cabin was great for what we needed! We enjoyed spending the eclipse weekend at this quiet cabin and especially enjoyed hanging out on the deck, listening to the brook.
We stayed at Saralyn and Adam’s place to attend a winter ATV event in N. Stratford, NH. Their place is adorable, accommodating, and decorated so cute! The location with the snowy ice covered brook in the background is like a picturesque post card! When I say the hosts thought of everything you’ll need when stocking their place I mean EVERYTHING! The extra added touches were nice right down to the electric foot massager that my husband was all about! 😂 Check-in and check-out were very convenient. We were even offered to check-in as early as we wanted when check-in is regularly 3pm, and offered to check-out as late as 3pm when it’s normally 1pm. The host was very friendly and responsive with communication. I will note that their place being an older cabin like home the downstairs could get a bit chilly. That was easily fixed with the electric space heaters provided throughout the house, and several blankets were available. I would absolutely book a stay there again.
The cabin is on a dirt road, which is serviced during the winter. There are a few dozen seasonal and year-round occupied properties down the road, as well as farms, streams and ponds. The cabin sits on half an acre with neighboring seasonal properties. Despite its remote location, there are two towns within a 15-20 minute drive that have grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, coffee shops, gift shops and a medical center.
We recommend turning left out of the cabin when leaving the property to take the shortest route to VT-102, which will connect you to the neighboring towns of Vermont and New Hampshire. The great thing about getting around is that the cabin makes you feel like you are very remote, yet you can still get around by car any time of the year, with towns nearby.
