This is the second time we have stayed at Le Joli Pré, but the first time with Laura as our host. She was outstanding. Just so sorry we didn’t get to meet her in person! Le Joli Pré is absolutely one of the most beautiful homes we have ever stayed in. In fact we changed our plans from going to England and came to France instead when we learned it was back on the rental market! Every corner of this house is charming and tasteful. It is the quintessential French home. (In fact we redecorated our bedroom at home to match one of the bedrooms here.) The kitchen is wonderfully equipped to try out French recipes. The castle ruins can be seen from every back window. And the back garden bench is perfectly situated to watch the sun set. You can see for miles! I even made a cobbler from the apples from the tree in the back garden! An added plus is the charm and pace and historicity of the town of Domfront itself. Our stay here was like walking into the pages of a blissful, relaxing fairytale!

We loved our stay at Laura’s delightful cottage. It’s charming, full of thoughtful touches, and very bright and sunny. The outdoor space is generous and has spectacular views over a large valley. Laura as a host was very responsive and generous with suggestions of places to go and local advice. We would definitely stay there again.

Good points: Kitchen was fairly well-equipped Beds were comfortable and a good size Smart TV with UK channels/Netflix Walks leaflets provided Close to town and lots of cycle paths Beautiful view from garden Bad points: Garden was quite overgrown. The grass was cut short but the bushes were clogged with weeds and it needed a bit of TLC We could have done with a tray to carry food upstairs and out to the garden. There was a very large tray, but this was more of an ornament than a utensil. No basket to carry wet washing up two flights of stairs Too much clutter everywhere and in the kitchen this meant there was hardly any counter space. We were there during a heatwave and had to clear the windowsills to open the windows (as they opened inwards). Open shelving in kitchen greasy Had to move ornaments on bathroom windowsill to open the windows to ventilate the room as the fan wasn't working BBQ had mould on it Sadly Domfront has a lot of closed up shops and feels run down in the centre

We stayed at Laura's beautiful home in Domfront for a month, the longest we've ever stayed at an Airbnb, and it went really well. Laura's recommendations and info binder were tremendously helpful and covered everything. And when we had a hiccup (my dad got a window stuck) she was incredibly responsive and kept us from worrying. The outdoor space at Laura's is gorgeous and we spent lots of time outdoors, which was great for our pre-teen kids. The town of Domfront is small, but the medieval part of town is beautiful and very close by. It has some really wonderful restaurants, cafe, and a spectacular bakery. We had a wonderful, restful holiday, and would definitely recommend her place for long and short stays. I can't recommend it enough. Thanks so much for hosting us, Laura!

perfect begin van onze vakantie! Het huisje is rustig gelegen en is vn alle gemakken voorzien. Het heeft een supermooie tuin en de omgeving is prachtig. Veel aardige dorpjes, en vooral veel leuke plekken om te wandelen. Ook leuk met kinderen!
