Great place, parking can be difficult if you’re taking more than 1 car but it’s nice how close everything around is.

We had the loveliest stay at Monarch cottage. It was very clean and felt cosy and homely which was just what we needed. The garden area was bigger than expected and the butterfly paintings were beautiful. Just like in the photos. Phillip & Tina were extremely helpful and responsive at all times. They really helped us out when we needed to change plans last minute. But also left us to it so we had full privacy. If we’re ever in Long beach again will absolutely go back..didn’t want to leave! 🦋😊 thank you!!

The place was pretty ok for the most part. The heat did break 2 days prior to us arriving but was not told until I got there and was given space heaters. I feel that was a little deceptive and didn't appreciate that. Because it was cold outside the house did get cold. I asked about some type of compensation, was told that it would be discussed but I never heard back. The white wash rags were dingy and needs to be replaced. The bathtub also needs to be reglazed because it is dirty. It was not bad for the price, just needs a few things fixed.

Phil and Tina's place was great. Very comfortable, airy, very nicely laid-out and great feel. Location is very convenient for Cal State Long Beach. Good find!

Long but good ending. Everything is as described by the hosts. Parking was a bit tricky especially having a large SUV but there’s enough space, knowing how to parallel park is a must and an extra pair of eyes or camera to guide is needed. When we first got inside, I noticed the toilet was clogged and I had to unclog it. Phil and Tina were kind enough to refund one of our pet fees for that. Due to the wall heater being on during our last night of our stay, the CO Alarm went off in the 2nd bedroom at 4am, followed by having to evacuate my family and have the fire dept show up. Once they cleared it safe and left Phil and Tina were very responsive at 5:30am. I appreciated that they were firstly concerned about my family’s well-being in making sure we were dry (from the rain) and warm since we needed to have all the windows open. They refunded me for that night along with extending our checkout time. I’d stay here again because they cared and had alarms that saved us. Thank you again!
